The sisters are processing their grief in different ways. Bibi (Sarah Green) is making sarcastic remarks, Ursula (Eva Burchill) wonders if the pills she provided caused Grace’s accident, and Becca (Eve Hewson) Sit back and take it all in, Eva (Sharon Horgan) tries to keep everyone together and take care of Blanaid (Seth Quinn), but she keeps having trouble breathing.
Feigl (Barry Ward) and Oona (Thadia Graham) continue to pursue the case, convinced that Grace is involved in JP’s death, and discover that Grace’s new husband Ian (Owen Mack) Donner’s disappearance is suspicious.
Everyone attends Grace’s funeral, and Angelica (Fiona Shaw) appears as a grieving widow. True to form, Bibi mutters “sad thief” under her breath, while Angelica loses herself and even tries to sit at the front of the family bench. Sister Garvey disagreed, and after Úrsula gently asked Angelica to move to another seat, she finally had to make her request in a more forceful way. Feigl and Una are there, and then we see Matt Garvey (Daryl McCormack), and Becca looks like she’s seeing a ghost. Oona also noticed Matt’s arrival. Brannaird finally took his place on the family bench and the priest began the ceremony, but due to a stroke he suffered last year, he got the family tree wrong. Bibi begins to laugh at the madness of it all, but the dam finally bursts and Bibi begins to cry.

The sisters were adamant about not delivering the eulogy, but then the priest asked the family to make some remarks. Sensing their fear, Roger (Michael Smiley) stands and begins singing in memory of Grace, joined by Bibi’s beautiful, clear voice. In mourning.
After the ceremony, Ian came back and said he knew Grace’s secret about JP. Fergal and Oona burst in, and the sisters wonder if this is it. Becca is pretty sure Ian won’t give up on them, but do we really know him? We learned that Ian and Grace met online, and I cheered a little when he countered the detectives’ questions, wondering, “Why does this fall on me?”
Back at Eva’s house, the sisters tell Ian they didn’t kill JP but helped cover it up during a disturbing moment when Becca’s boyfriend Joe (Peter Clavery) dropped a box of crisps . There’s something else going on there, right? The energy Jo shows in her scenes with the sisters is strange.
The “Sad Thief” suddenly attacks Ursula. Angelica seduces others and trades secrets. She collects them and then uses them for her own benefit. Watching Angelica get closer to Ursula for information, Angelica reveals to Ursula that she knows what Grace did to JP. Ursula eventually told Angelica that she gave Grace pills to help calm her down. Angelica whispered: “Nothing bad can be done with love” and kissed Úrsula’s head. Úrsula knew she had said too much.
Oona may have needed to be smoother in her interviews with the family, but it turns out her social media knowledge was able to connect some of the missing pieces, including a post where Becca and Matt once liked each other’s posts and then suddenly stopped. Matt is back in the story. Úrsula is uncomfortable with her confession to Angelica and tracks her down to make sure the secret won’t be revealed. In a scene of Juggernaut manipulation, Angelica blackmails Úrsula into paying to replace the windows in the building where Angelica runs the support group. Angelica is vulnerable to blackmail. The money is worth the quiet.

Eva continues to try to contact Branade, who doesn’t want to leave home. Eva and Ian had an honest exchange about what was best for Bra, and both seemed to want to do what was best for the situation. Ian helps Eva with her breathing problems, showing her how to breathe into her belly to cope with the shock of death, and invites Eva to bring back crisps to lure Bra out of her room. Could Ian be so good? I don’t know what I want in this situation.
Eva put on Grace’s jacket and felt comfortable smelling the fragrance, but found a bank withdrawal slip of 20,000 euros. The sisters wonder who the money is for, and the look on Ursula’s face suggests she’s connecting the dots before rushing off to spend time with her family.
Ursula’s ex-husband Donal (Jojo O’Neill) shares that Ellie was called to the hospital to dispose of missing pills and review applications. Ursula’s world collapsed. At the hospital, Ellie finds Ursula trying to cover up her mistake. Ursula revealed she originally took the pills to give to her son Michael to help him get rid of his nightmares during his doctor’s trip in the summer. Eventually, Úrsula took medicine and finally got real rest, but she couldn’t stop. Ellie walked her home, and on the way out, Úrsula asked Angelica if she had tipped off Ellie. It’s unclear what will happen next.
The detective told the sisters that Grace’s toxicology report was clear, and Ursula was visibly relieved. Fergus asks the question we all want to know: Is Grace running from something? Did she leave because the detectives had something going on? Úrsula finally told the sisters about giving the pills to Grace and about Angelica’s blackmail. Now they are all on the same page, wondering if Angelica is blackmailing Grace, just like she blackmailed Ursula. They work together to deal with the situation, wondering who Angelica will turn to next, but it might be too late. Anjelica throws poor Blanaid into trouble, having witnessed firsthand the aftermath of her mother’s abuse and her father’s death. She got in touch with Ian, only to feel that her mother’s actions drove him away. She was ready to be manipulated by Angelica.
random thoughts
The lies Becca told Oona about being involved with Matt Claffin will come back to bite them.
I don’t seem to care much about Feigl’s personal life.
The number of people learning about JP’s murder continues to grow. At some point, the whole town will know the details.
What is the ending for Angelica? Is she just the town nosy, or does she have a real hatred for the Garvey family?
