“This is how you dance in Barranquilla”
Ahead of the start of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour in February, Shakira’s hometown paid tribute to her at the annual Barranquilla Carnival. This year, the festival kicks off on March 1, featuring the Colombian hitmaker’s iconic line “In Barranquilla they dance like this,” taken from “Hips Don’t Lie”, as its official slogan. On January 11, fans gathered in front of the Shakira statue in Barranquilla, where the official image of this year’s Carnival was unveiled.
“As a Barranquilla, this tribute touches my heart and fills me with pride,” Shakira said in a statement. “It is an honor and a joy to be part of it in this way. From my Since the day I was born, I have always been extremely proud to be from Barranquilla and always will be, because that is what we do here – above all, we celebrate life as we know it. Celebrate! Let’s spread this energy around the world! Long live Carnival, long live its culture and its people. Love you all!

Del Records provides information to first responders
Del Records CEO amid devastation from deadly wildfires burning in Los Angeles Angel Villar On Thursday (Jan. 16), Del Villar launched an initiative to provide food to firefighters, first responders and support personnel stationed at the Rose Bowl base camp in Pasadena, California. The Tacos Bombero 408, a fire truck turned into a taco truck. According to a press release, the Tacos Bombero 408 team provided more than 1,000 fresh meals “to bring hope and gratitude to those on the front lines fighting wildfires.” Regarding the initiative, Del Villar said, “It’s the least we can do for the people who are risking their lives.”
Goods with a reason
On Thursday, Karol G launched special merchandise designed specifically for the city of Los Angeles, with all proceeds going to wildfire relief efforts. The merchandise, which includes a $120 hoodie and a $40 tote, is available now here .
“LA, you are in my heart,” Karol G wrote in a post shared on her Karol G Merch Instagram page. “At Con Cora Foundation, we have teamed up with I Scream Color to create two pieces that represent solidarity with those affected by one of the most destructive wildfires in California history. 100% of the artist’s proceeds will be donated to the Los Angeles Foundation YMCA of the Metropolis to support the individuals, families and resources impacted. This is an outpouring of love and gratitude to this city that means so much to me and to all of us that together we can make a difference. .Let’s come together and show Los Angeles it’s in our hearts.
More Latin acts donate to wildfire relief efforts
In solidarity with the Los Angeles community, artists such as Alejandro Fernández, Maná, Peso Pluma, Chiquis and Fuerza Regida have all stepped up to help Countless Angelenos affected by the ongoing destruction. Over the past week, wildfires have destroyed thousands of homes and buildings and forced more than 100,000 people to evacuate. More than 20 people have died in the Los Angeles area.

Blessd is all about football

The club’s first friendly since the takeover will be against Atlético Nacional in Medellin, Colombia, as part of pre-season and the Bendita Cup.
