Beyoncé was introduced as a “Hometown Hero” ahead of the “Beyoncé Bowl” during a special Christmas NFL game hosted by Netflix. Fittingly, the show was extended and featured several live debuts Cowboy Carter track, which feels completely separate from the context of the halftime show, a must-see live event that is broadcast around the world, dominates all social media, and happens to take place during a football game.
Beyoncé introduced an all-white Western aesthetic throughout the show, riding a white horse backstage and singing “16 Carriages” as she walked onto the NRG Stadium field, her face adorned with blond curls. She then dismounted and walked forward, continuing her soulful rendition of “Blackbird,” flanked by her bandmates and backing vocalists, then her four co-singers: Tanner Adell, Brittney Spinn Cy, Teela Kennedy and Rayna Roberts.
Bey finally took the stage for a rousing version of album highlight “Ya Ya,” a marching band bringing the ebullient energy as she made her way down the field into the end zone. As Beyoncé performed her 2023 single “My House” live for the first time, the quieter intro gave way to dozens of dancers and musicians, followed by a pair Cowboy Carter Second half gems: “Riiverdance” and “Sweet ★ Honey ★ Buckiin'”. The latter features Shaboozey, who tied the Hot 100’s all-time record with his single “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which came just weeks after the victory.
Then the pace slowed down and Bey struck a pose in front of a pickup truck before she put on “Levii’s Jeans” – with Post Malone waiting for her in the bed of the truck. Wearing a diamond-encrusted white jacket and (of course) jeans, Posti joined Bay for a few seconds of the heartfelt duet, and the two superstars were all smiles as they performed the song together for the first time.
She had a No. 1 hit after singing a cover of “Jolene” while driving to the front court in a convertible. Cowboy Carter“Texas Hold’em,” with her daughter Blue Ivy dancing beside her. “I need all my cowboys on the dance floor now!” Bey exclaimed shortly before ascending to the stadium roof, finishing the performance in mid-air on a small white platform to a roar of applause from his hometown crowd.
The performance marks Bey’s first live performance Cowboy Carter The album, released last March, topped the Billboard 200 chart in April and earned the superstar another Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. Even though Beyoncé is spending 2023 on the road, as her 2022 full-length Dinner revivalshe hasn’t gone on tour yet Cowboy Carter…Though after the show, she did preview the January 14, 2025 show.
