Big K.R.I.T. sits down with Ebro Darden in the studio to discuss his album, ‘Digital Roses Don’t Die,’ which he describes as a metaphor for hip-hop inspired by the elements. The album can be broken into four distinct themes: lust (fire), remaining grounded (earth), acceptance (water), and emotional turbulence (air). Big K.R.I.T. walks Ebro through the tracks and describes the inspirations behind songs like “Southside of the Moon” and “So Cool.” He shares that he is inspired by his grandparents and the concept of family legacy, as well as other artists in the industry who forge their own paths. After thirteen mixtapes, five EPs, and five studio albums, Big K.R.I.T. has gained a significant amount of wisdom when it comes to the real meaning of hip-hop.
