After a four-year hiatus, the DJ Awards returned to Ibiza on Wednesday (October 2), with a host of DJs and industry executives honored at a ceremony held at the island venue Chinois. The awards were presented by the show’s presenter, BBC Radio 1’s Jaguar and presenter Katie Knight.
The award is given to artists who create music in a specific genre, with Black Coffee winning in the African music category, beating seven other producers including American pro DJz and Francis Mercier. British giants Chase & Status won the drum and bass category, genre icon Sven Vath won the techno category and Ukrainian producer Miss Monique won the breakout artist category.
Voting for these artist awards is open to the public. See the full list of artist winners below.
Among the industry awards, producer Luciano won the Ibiza Icon Award, and Adam Port and Stryv won the Ibiza Icon Award for their song “Move Feat.” Malachii” won the Ibiza Summer Circuit Award, Defected Croatia won the Best Global Music Festival, Gospel Club NYC won the Eye on USA Award, and David Guetta’s long-running F**K Me Im Famous / Futurerave event won the Best Ibiza Award. The Salzburg Party Award, German trio Keinemusik won the Global Hot Award, Cafe Mambo’s Javier Anadon won the Lifetime Achievement Award and Michael Bibi’s One Life cancer awareness campaign won the Play It Back Award. The industry awards were voted on by dance industry executives. Association for Electronic Music (AFEM).
2024 marks the 23rd year of the DJ Awards, founded in 1998 by Ibiza residents José Pascual and Lenny Krarup. The award was taken over by Andy Grant earlier this year and is now under new ownership.
