It’s official! There’s something I’ve been hoping would happen to Blue Bloods’ Jamie and Eddie before the series ends.
It’s heartbreaking that we only have these two episodes left and a few more for the rest of the Regan family, but at least Blue Bloods will get the strong send-off he deserves.
Plus, even if it’s just talk right now, there could still be a spinoff (and not unlike More Blue Bloods!)
Jamie and Eddie’s final storyline was everything I dreamed of
Eddie and Jamie have been married for several years, and since then they have spent less and less time together.
However, my perfect blue blood ending was always that they would have a child. This feels like a pipe dream, but I can’t think of a better way to end this series.
In my opinion, the ending of Blue Bloods should be about this chapter The legendary story of the Reagan family.
The final message should be that things have changed, but family continues, and I wanted the last scene before the final credits to be a big Reagan family dinner, ending with a toast to the Reagan family.
I don’t know if this is going to happen, but I do know one thing: Jamie and Eddie started talking about becoming parents on Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 11.
Why Blue Bloods’ Jamie and Addison having a baby is the perfect ending to Blue Bloods
Jamie and Eddie’s kids start a new chapter in their lives, which is exactly what I wanted in a series finale.
Their children will be the last of the next generation, not the first, as both Erin and Danny have young adult children.
Still, Giacomo’s children are much younger than their cousins, so it’s almost like the start of a new generation.
Either way, this will be an exciting new chapter for Jamie and Eddie, and it’s super symbolic for those of us watching at home and hating that the series is coming to an end.
A new baby means new life, which is the best way to end a blue bloodline. While I’ll be sad that the show is ending, I’ll be relieved to know that one of my favorite TV couples is raising their kids off-screen.
It would be even more poignant if they named their child after Henry.
I’m still worried that the series will end with Henry passing away or learning that he has a terminal illness. It would be frustrating and terrible and I hope they don’t do it, but I can see the logic in it.
Henry had been at the head of the family table for 14 years, so his death marked the end of an era more than anything else.
It would be heartbreaking if the show went in this direction. However, it would help ease the pain if Eddie and Jamie decide to name their child after him.
Doing so would not only honor Henry but also reinforce the idea that the Regan family would last forever.
Henry will be gone, but a new Henry (or Henrietta, if it’s a girl) will be born and will respect his life while creating her own.
What more beautiful way to end this series than this?
Of course, even if Henry survives until the final episode, Jamie and Eddie could still name their child after Henry.
The family is Catholic, not Jewish, so there is no prohibition on naming children after living relatives.
It’s also poignant. Fans aren’t stupid; we know Henry is old, and even if he’s alive and well in the final episode, eventually, things will change.
The story remains the same: life goes on, the Regan family goes on, and the baby is named after Henry. The only difference is that the audience will be spared the pain of witnessing Henry’s death.
A new baby means changes ahead for Jamie and Eddie
The reason Jamie and Eddie spend so little time together now is that Jamie has a demanding new job.
He works in Intelligence (yes, the same one as Law & Order: SVU’s Amanda Rollins works in Intelligence, but they’re not in the same universe, so sadly no crossover potential.)
His job was mostly undercover, which was stressful for Addie because she didn’t know what was happening to him or if he was safe in his absence.
How will he do that when he becomes the father of a newborn?
If the final episodes of Blue Bloods include preparing for a new baby, this is the conversation Eddie and Jamie need to have.
Jamie should also get some advice from Danny, although I really hope Linda is still alive.
She’s the one who has to endure being married to a cop, often sacrificing her own peace of mind to support his chosen career.
She could help convince Jamie to find some way to become a police officer while also allowing him to be there for his family in their time of need.
Resolving this conflict could prepare Jamie to become the next commissioner when Frank eventually retires.
It also opens the door for a spin-off about Jamie and Eddie, like Blue Bloods , which blends family drama with police drama.
Obviously, Jamie and Eddie having a baby is the perfect ending for Blue Bloods, but what about you?
Is this the ending of your dreams? What else would you like to see happen?
