NBC’s “Brilliant Minds” will premiere in September for the upcoming fall season.

While medical dramas abound, “Bright Minds” is different because it’s based on the real-life Dr. Oliver Wolfe Sachs.

The series focuses on a legendary neurologist who is not afraid to break the rules to help patients live fulfilling lives.

While the show focuses primarily on the main character, it also includes an exciting ensemble, including his old friend Dr. Pierce and his team of interns.

The team explores cases related to the human mind while examining their own mental health issues and relationships.

With real-life inspiration, rich characters, and a talented cast, we hope this series continues for many seasons. Meet the cast and characters of Brilliant Minds.

Zachary Quinto plays Dr. Wolf, the new chief of neurology at Bronx General Hospital and an obsessive genius.

He is drawn to people who others in society have given up on and helps them find hope and purpose again. He embraces differences rather than blocking them.

Dr. Wolf finds it difficult to open up about his difficulties, which include facial blindness.

Quinto rose to fame playing serial killer Cyler on NBC’s “Heroes,” on which he appeared for all four seasons.

He is also known for playing the young Spock in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars reboot.

He brought such a multi-layered performance to a complex character that he repeated it in all the films in the series and the documentary “For the Love of Spock.”

Quinto has also branched out into theatre, making his West End stage debut in 2022 in James Graham’s new play The Best of Enemies.

He will certainly bring his wealth of experience to Dr. Wolfe.

Dr. Carol Pierce (played by Tambella Perry)

Perry will play Dr. Carol Pierce, Wolfe’s longtime friend since medical school and the director of psychology at the Bronx hospital.

She recruits Wolfe to work with her at the hospital, hoping to form a neuropsychology dream team to help patients others consider hopeless.

As Wolfe’s closest friend, she understood him better than most and often had to mediate when others didn’t understand his vision.

Perry has appeared in many television series, including All American: Homecoming, playing Damon’s mother Keena Sims.

Perry most recently starred as Alexandra in Hulu’s Death and Other Details series and the Netflix film They Cloned Tyrone.

She and her husband, Kevin Douglas, have an improv comedy show, “The Tam & Kevin Show,” which airs on Second City’s YouTube channel.

Perry can do comedy as well as dramatic scenes, so her scenes opposite Quinto will be fun.

Dr. Josh Nichols (played by Teddy Sears)

Sears will play Dr. Josh Nichols, a neurosurgeon who leaves private practice in San Francisco to work at a Bronx hospital.

He was clinical and technical, the complete opposite of Wolfe, and the two often clashed over the way they treated patients.

Although they develop a competitive relationship, eventually, the two men develop a grudging respect for each other.

Sears began his acting career with a two-year contract role on the soap opera One Life to Live.

He has appeared in many television series, some of his more significant roles being as Jay Garrick, the original Flash on The Flash. He later returned to “The Flash” as “Zoom, Black Lightning.”

Sears also played Dr. Austin Wrangham in Masters of Sex and Keith Mullins in 24: Legacy.

He’s played villains before, so it will be interesting to see what he brings to the role and the conflict between Dr. Nichols and Dr. Wolfe.

When Dr. Wolf entrusted him with the responsibility, he was full of confidence, but his confidence was shaken when he learned that his boss was studying his condition.

McNicholl recently rose to fame playing Luke in Netflix’s The Society.

This is his first series regular role on network television.

Lathrop plays Dr. Erica Kinney, a first-year intern who always follows the rules.

Now under Dr. Wolfe’s care, Erica is thrust into an unpredictable environment while trying to keep secrets from the other interns.

Ericka often takes on the role of leader of the interns, trying to mediate between them and keep them working as a team towards a common goal.

Lathrop has extensive acting experience, including a supporting role as Hannah in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” series.

She transitioned to television, starring in Prime Videos’ Utopia in 2020. She also co-wrote “The Kominsky Method” and received a Screen Actors Guild nomination for Outstanding Ensemble Comedy Actor.

Lathrop most recently voiced Iris West in “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 1.”

As ambitious as her personality was, Lathrop enjoyed traveling abroad and learning new languages.

Jacob feared he had suffered a concussion-related brain injury and self-medicated to cope with his fear.

Sometimes he hides his fear by acting like a jerk to other interns.

Moore has appeared in several television series, starting with Facebook Watch’s Five O’Clock in 2017.

Moore stars on The CW’s All American as Chris Jackson, one of Spencer James’ oldest friends on the show.

He also appeared in Superman & Lois Season 3 as Matteo Manheim, the son of Bruno Manheim and Peja Manheim and Natalie Irons Si’s lover.

While Moore was a recurring guest on “All American,” she was also cast in HBO’s coming-of-age drama “We Are Who We Are.” He plays Danny Poythress, who is trying to discover his heritage and learn about Islam while spending time with his friends.

While Dana was honest about her anxiety, she would rather take Xanax than get to the root of the problem.

Krebs guest-starred in Prime Video’s “Leverage: Redemption.” However, most of her acting experience has been on stage, including a new musical, “The Hood.”

Krebs recorded a song, “There’s a Rabbit on the Moon,” in July 2022 for the world’s first LGBTQIA+ lullaby album, “Rainbow Lullaby.”

With such a talented cast, Brilliant Minds is set to become another hit. We’re excited to see how it unfolds.
