Judy Greer, Sean Astin, Bryan Cranston and John Goodman have all signed on to star in the upcoming dark comedy pepper fingersco-directed by first-time director Ed Benda and Steven Helstad. Helstad wrote the script and Goodman executive produced. Additional cast members Sarah Herman and Paul Stanko have now been cast, with production scheduled to begin next spring. The film is produced by Beyond the Porch and Gold Tree Studios.
pepper fingers It tells the story of a recently empty-nest mother (Greer) who discovers a human finger in her fast-food chili bowl. When she extorts cash from the restaurant, the situation spirals out of control and her life is thrown into chaos.
As of now, Astin, Cranston and Goodman’s roles are being kept under wraps.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better cast to bring our quirky black comedy to the big screen,” said co-directors Benda and Herstad. “We are excited for the opportunity to share this wonderful slice of Midwestern life with audiences around the world,” they added.
Sam Sandweiss (Darkwell Entertainment), Tim Chonacas (Gold Tree Studios) and Jo Henriquez serve as producers. pepper fingers The film was released globally during the American Film Market in Las Vegas, with Moonstone Entertainment handling the film’s international distribution and Gershin handling domestic distribution.
