Some people are determined to lose those last few pounds, give up drinking for a month, say hello to strangers every day, or finally book a vacation to Hawaii. But Cardi B’s New Year’s resolutions had a bigger impact on them. The “Bongos” rapper went live on Instagram Live on Sunday (November 24) to let anyone with an opinion know that in 2025 she’s going to end your mess.

In a fan snap of the post, Cardi explained that she and her friends have been making New Year’s goals, New Year’s resolutions, and New Year’s affirmations, and you better believe she’s not messing with any of them. “I’m telling you right now, all the niggas or assholes that I’m hanging out with in 2024? I’m telling you right now… you better apologize to me today!” Cardi says in the video, in which she appears to be wearing pajamas.
“Because you want to know what? You want to know why? Because next year… once… you know everyone says that every New Year, but this time I’m sticking to it,” she added. “Next year, as soon as 12 o’clock noon hits, I’m going to hit the reset button. Do you hear me? I’m hitting the damn reset button.
Cardi then detailed the extent of her planned reset. “I’m hitting the damn reset button. I’m whipping everyone on the ass with a belt,” she warned. “I’m tired of everybody. I’m telling you, I’m not taking anything next year.” While Cardi didn’t specify who she was directing her ire at, she said “a whole bunch” of things happened this year that put her in 2024. confusion.
With all her music plans lined up, including making a music video and undergoing unspecified surgery in early 2024, Cardi said, “God said, ‘Not so fast.'” I’m gonna send you a damn baby! ‘” To be clear, Cardi gushed about her baby daughter, who was born in early September, just weeks after the rapper filed for divorce from Migos MC Offset, with whom she has two other children. Cardi called her “so beautiful…she’s a good friend of mine. “If I could, I would take her to the club with me because she is a good friend of mine. I would like to spend the whole day with her.
Cardi has spent much of 2024 teasing her long-awaited second album, including during another recent Instagram Live where she told fans she’s been “crazy lately” but hopes to “get [her] Fucking life together… I have a lot to do next year,” she said. “I know next year is going to be my damn year.” Her 2025 to-do list includes: Releasing an as-yet-untitled follow-up to her 2018 Billboard 200 debut Invasion of privacyand also hopes to get “a little boyfriend.”
In October, Cardi told fans that her second full-length studio album was “coming soon,” and confirmed that she was in the studio working on it.
