Chencho Corleone attended the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which aired on Telemundo on Sunday (October 20).
Following performances by the likes of Fuerza Regida, Pepe Aguilar, Gloria Trevi & Maria Becerra and Yandel, the Puerto Rican artist brings his city-cumbia fusion to the stage with a song about women, “Lo Caro y Lo Bueno” Someone who is centrally independent and enjoys the finer things in life.
Wearing an oversized button-up shirt, matching pants and large sunglasses, and joined by a troupe of sexy dancers, Corleone sang: “She likes expensive and nice things/She likes parties, rumba and pulls.” Kata.
“Lo Caro y Lo Bueno” is part of Corleone’s debut studio album solo The album was released five years after he parted ways with popular early 2000s reggae duo Plan B. The album features 18 songs that stay true to Chencho’s unique voice and futuristic style, such as “Menta,” “Good Times,” and “District.” In addition to experimenting with cumbia in “Lo Caro y Lo Bueno,” Corleone also composed an electronic track called “Himalaya.”
Hosted by actors Carmen Villalobos and Danilo Carrera, the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards honor the brightest talent in Latin music. This year’s edition features an all-star lineup spanning genres and generations, including J Balvin, Fuerza Regida, Kali Uchis, Xavi, Grupo Niche, Prince Royce, Proyecto Uno and more.
Karol G leads the 2024 awards show finalists with 17 nominations in key categories including Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year and Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year. Bad Bunny and Peso Pluma followed with 15 mentions each.
