Our reunion with Intelligence is just around the corner, and we’ve got Chicago PD Season 12 Episode 1 spoilers for the upcoming premiere.

There will be a lot to explore when the series returns.

Voight has some interesting developments and changes are coming.

So, let’s dive into some spoilers from the season premiere!

Voight and Mattson’s near-death moments still linger

Interestingly, it feels like this season may focus on Voight, and that will be a storyline that runs throughout much of the season.

Voight has been through some traumatic moments in the past, but Voight’s experience in the season finale may very well be the closest he’s come to death since we’ve met the man.

Even someone as outwardly strong as Voight is inevitably left with lasting effects and trauma after a horrific experience.

It seems like the season premiere might choose to explore this, as we’ll catch up with Voight and the rest of the unit a month after his capture and torture.

A lot can happen in a month.

When we caught up with showrunner Gwen Sigan, she teased that Voight is working hard to deal with what happened with Mattson, and may be draining his team of energy in the process.

If it’s been a full month since this happened, one can imagine how exhausted our team would be if Voight had them springing into action and trying to keep up with him as he escapes from their respective demons.

    Overburdened, cases keep coming

The synopsis reveals that in the episode “Nineteen Nineteen,” the team may be overwhelmed by the several cases they encounter.

Voight may be trying to maintain some momentum to distract himself from the recent spate of terrible things happening to him.

We have to consider that not only did he experience a horrific near-death at the hands of a serial killer and even see his best friend Olinsky in the process, but he also lost his as Haley relocated Fake daughter.

He is still mourning the death of Noah, who seemed to remind him of his son.

Voight has a lot to do emotionally, and he also puts the blame on the rest of the team because they’re on their own now and they’re probably going to be in pain.

Torres had a file on him when the department began its investigation.Torres had a file on him when the department began its investigation.

With Haley gone, they have more work to do and fewer people to share the load, and it’s doubtful we’ll see any kind of replacement in the first installment.

Now that all of this has happened, there’s no way anyone could have intervened within this month’s time frame.

The team may be feeling stretched, with major crimes piling up, but now, the summary suggests the team will solve a major drug bust.

    Chapman becomes Voight’s confidant

Voight and Chapman have always had a unique dynamic, something the show has hinted at since she first appeared.

They have a deep understanding of each other, allowing them to work well together and trust each other in small things.

In some ways, they are similar in keeping their emotions under wraps and trying to keep people at arm’s length, which may be why they successfully bond.

But it seems like with Haley gone, Voight may need someone to talk to more, and Chapman may step up to the plate.

She’s very hands-on and judging by her photos, she might be able to help solve this drug case.

In one of the photos, we see her talking to Voight.

She looks serious, maybe even worried, and is more focused on her reaction to him because she is in the center of the photo.

We have another image of her appearing serious or pensive.

The team is already overstretched and overburdened.

Chapman will probably help and make sure Voight slows down so she doesn’t do it for him.

She knew he was not doing well and she would make her presence known whether he wanted to or not.

Is this episode heavy on men?

Even though we barely see Voight in one of the shots, we know the hour will still focus on him dealing with the aftermath of the Mason incident.

But the stills also give us a healthy dose of Atwater, Ruzek and Torres.

Ruzek focused on investigating potential suspects in the case.Ruzek focused on investigating potential suspects in the case.

We don’t see Kim at all, which is interesting and makes one wonder if the tease about her considering the next phase of her career is accurate.

Or she may have no news pictures dedicated to her at all.

We didn’t see any photos of Trudy Pratt either.

These men do seem focused and determined to solve the latest case, but also overwhelmed.

Torres still wears one of his signature white T-shirts, and there is at least one photo of him wearing a CPD vest on set.

Torres caught the eye on his first appearance of the season.Torres caught the eye on his first appearance of the season.

This could be a very active case, especially considering that one character could be a key player or suspect in the case, as he could be reaching for a gun.

Ruzek looks very handsome and very focused on the task at hand.

As he worked at his desk, he seemed slightly confused as he pored over the case files and whatever was on his computer screen.

This case will be a complex and action-packed one.

Chicago PD Season 12 could be on the verge of hitting theaters and kicking off an exciting new season with busy, case-heavy installments and fun character moments for Voight and others.
