Every cop has a case that haunts them, and we’re about to see one of Voight’s cases throughout his long career.
Chicago PD Season 12 does a great job of maintaining an impressive pace, blending exciting and dynamic cases, extensive teamwork, and a focus on characters.
It’s hands down the best of the series in a while.
We look forward to another heartbreaking and action-packed episode of Chicago PD Season 12 Episode 4.
Voight takes center stage again
Depending on your particular tastes as a viewer, this may be a good news/bad news situation.
But in this season, each episode will likely spend a lot of time focusing on a specific character, and we’ll get another Voight-focused episode before completing the cycle.
As we recall, Chicago PD Season 12 Episode 1 focused heavily on Voight, getting the season off to an incredible start.
We return to him again as a case becomes important to him and as he struggles with past frustrations over his inability to crack it.
We’ve now seen Voight’s tenacity in fighting and solving crime.
Voight’s dedication takes on a whole new tone, as his near-death experience gives him a new perspective on death and his purpose.
His job is his goal now more than ever and he is on a arduous journey to find justice and solve as many crimes as possible.
Fortunately, thanks to Chapman’s words of wisdom and Jesus’ conversation with him, it no longer develops as relentlessly as it once did.
Chapman returns for more support
As expected, we’ll also see Chapman appear in this episode, with Voight desperate to bring justice to his many victims as the team tracks down a series of rapes.
Many of the spoiler images for Chicago PD Season 12 Episode 4 feature Chapman, suggesting she will be more involved in the show than usual.
A fascinating dynamic develops between Voight and Chapman, with showrunner Gwen Sigan teasing that Chapman will be someone Voight can rely on and trust. Someone it can rely on and trust, as a colleague rather than a subordinate.
One also has to wonder if Reid will show up at this time.
We know the two of them have a similar approach to their work, and we’ve only seen glimpses of him so far, so we’re finally going to start digging into the character.

This will be another action-packed, emotional case.
The entire Chicago police force seems equally motivated to assist their fearless leader in this mission.
Keeping up with the season’s delightful pattern, it looks like Trudy will be making an appearance this season as well.
Maybe she’s helping with information or doing some research and archival work.
Another good thing about this hour is that the teamwork still seems to be going strong.
Although Chicago PD Season 12 Episode 4 centers on Voight, many spoiler images feature the entire current team.

Ruzek and Voight also appear to be teaming up on the street.
We even get an exciting shot of Lutz carrying a battering ram, which likely means they’ll find the suspect and have to break into the man’s home.
This is Voight, they’re going through a tough time and are ready to take on anyone.
Many of the photos show them wearing vests and fighting side by side, battering rams in hand, ready for action.
We’re doing some action stuff with Atwater and Ocean, the two of them working together again, as well as Voight and Ruzek.
Although Kim appears in this segment, her images show her spending most of her time in the bullpen.
We also get another car chase, which is usually a blast and one the show hasn’t skimped on since the start of the season.
“After” revolves around dynamics and partnerships
At one point in the promo, Atwater appears to be trying to save a woman, causing them both to break a pane of glass in the process.
One thing is for sure, the intelligence community is determined to track down a serial rapist, and Voight is on a mission to get to the bottom of the case that has haunted him for 15 years.
