Cocociado kicks off the second leg of his Ando Enfocado tour, his first visit to the East Coast. The Mexican singer-songwriter has been performing his intoxicating tracks since teaming up with Grupo Codiciado in 2016. Songs range from “Ni Mis Padres Saben Qué Rollo” to his solo fan favorites “Golpes de la Vida”, “Ando Enfocado”, “Vamos Aclarando Many Cosas”, and some classic covers including Los Tiranos del Norte’s “Even with bitter skin.”
The first show of the tour takes place on Friday (September 27) at the 2,700-capacity Paramount Theater in Brooklyn, New York City. Accompanied by a nine-piece ensemble that included a brass section (tubas and trumpets), guitarists, bassists, drummers, toloroche and accordionists, Kodi Sayadaw wore his signature du Rags, Adidas jumpsuits and huge diamond-encrusted garments took to the stage. The Tijuana-born star opened the show with “Bélico el Asunto,” setting the tone for pure revelry and a la belikeada.
During the two-hour set, which began at 8:45 p.m., Codiciado kept the Latin crowd, mostly Mexican, lively, many of whom carried Mexican flags, singing songs from his early hits with his former band Grupo Codiciado, such as 2018 album) begins I see things that others don’t see to his 2023 solo album life blowand collaborations with other artists.
He also handed out roses to fans in the rows and flirted with women in attendance. “I’m very sad,” he said, leaving fans in suspense about what he was going to say next. “But there’s a problem, I’m already married. So my wife doesn’t understand that I want to have many girlfriends. I really like Geritas blue eyes, and white has black hair, and morenitas Has curly hair. Then he took the liberty of inviting a group of women to the stage and danced with them one by one, much to the excitement of many women.
Codiciado continues his Ando Enfocado tour through the end of October, with subsequent stops in Rosemont, IL; Houston; San Jose, CA; and a wrap in Reno, NV.
