Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was injured when he accidentally fell through a trap door on stage during his final night at Marvel Stadium on Sunday, November 3. Melbourne fans were shocked.
In footage shared on social media, Martin can be seen walking backwards as he reads a fan sign before accidentally stepping into an open part of the stage and disappearing from view.
Martin disappeared instantly, and nearly 60,000 people gasped. However, he soon reappeared from the stage and assured fans with a smile: “This was not planned.”
Coincidentally, Martin isn’t the only artist to have fallen through a trap door on the Melbourne scene recently.
Olivia Rodrigo also fell through a trap door on October 18 while performing during her “GUTS” tour at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena.
