20 years later, Corey FeldmanLost 2004 Movie Birthday It’s finally coming to theaters. A trailer for the film, which you can check out here .
In a recent interview with Salon, Feldman was asked why it took two decades for Eugenio Milla’s film to be released.
“I have my own theory,” Feldman said. The official response was that the executive producer said he didn’t want to accept any offer that didn’t give him a full refund of his theater fees.
“We want it to come out, but most distributors won’t give us money upfront, or will give us just a little money up front, which saves most of the money.” [payment] for the backend. DVDs were fading out at the time and times were changing.
“He held on strong. We played some festivals and got rave reviews. It got the buzz it needed, but he said, ‘No.’ “That’s it.
Feldman continued, “I wish there was a clear answer. But 20 years later, he finally gave in, relinquished control of the film, and let it go. Thank you to the man who allowed this.
Feldman continued, “I’m glad he made the right choice and the film is released and people will have a chance to see this beloved film. The payoff may not be what people expected, but it has its The payoff. This is a Lynchian black comedy.
Feldman said there was “no doubt” that his career would have been different if the film had been released in 2004. I feel like the film’s hiatus was intentional and for this reason.
“There were people at the top who didn’t want me to succeed. They wanted the idea of portraying a fallen hero, someone who had lost his craft and ability and was no longer the genius kid he once was.
That was the image they were trying to imprint on me. When I say “they,” who knows who they are? All I know is that there was an obvious lineage and timeline to the great films I made during those years but somehow didn’t get released or weren’t seen, and that’s the bottom line.
The lamest movies, the ones I had to make just to survive, were all over the place. You always see life’s most embarrassing moments. It was the first time I felt a little bit of validation and redemption – thank God, while I’m still here enjoying it – viewing a piece of art that I care deeply about.
Feldman was great in “The Birthday” and even though he’s out doing band stuff now, I think he still has the acting chops. He just needs a solid project to showcase them on.
The film has been described as “mischievously thrilling and darkly funny. In the old Royal Fulton Hotel, nothing is as it seems. Norman Forrest in Corey Feldman’s career-defining Great performance at the show and finally getting to meet her girlfriend in front of her family.
“But what was supposed to be a major step forward in their relationship didn’t quite go as planned; he wasn’t on the guest list, his girlfriend ignored him, and her father didn’t like him at all.
“Rejected and heartbroken, Norman leaves the party only to discover that something more sinister than his girlfriend’s family lurks in the seedy hotel’s churning bowels: an ancient evil that threatens to bring about the end of the world.”
