We’re going to talk about last night’s Dancing with the Stars. Why do I only see half of it. We’re going to talk about some dance, some related stuff that I didn’t know about until last night.
We will also discuss Love Is Blind. Now, as you’re listening to this, you’ve probably seen episodes 10 and 11, and they were released at 3 a.m. Eastern time, and I’m like, what? I haven’t watched them yet because they haven’t been released yet as I’m recording this, but tomorrow’s daily roundup and tomorrow’s weekly podcast, with Game of Thrones, will be a Love Blind Breakdown.
So we’ll talk about it, but the mother of Taylor’s child has gone public on her Instagram story and needless to say, she’s not happy and I’m going to get a reader email with a lot of questions that I need to answer. We’ll get to all of this later. There’s not a lot to say about funding season since we’re in the middle of hometown dates, right?
Because they already had three hometown dates. Only one hometown date has photos and/or video. That was Juliana’s on Friday. Sunday was with Zoe. Nothing comes out there. Yesterday it was Latiya, Wyoming. I didn’t receive anything there. Then it will be tomorrow. Dina is in Chicago, maybe we’ll say something about it.
Not sure, but really nothing to add right now. As I mentioned on Monday’s podcast, I do have more information about the season, first impressions, rose dates, things like group date roses. You know, that will come in due time, but. There really is nothing to live for now.
Obviously the next thing to know is obviously the rose ceremony on Friday, it’s going to be a hometown date, the rose ceremony, who’s going to be eliminated there. They will then head out for the night and a final rose ceremony. Haven’t heard of it yet but it’s definitely coming but I’ll keep you updated with all the developments in due course.
So I want to discuss this issue. Last night, Dancing with the Stars. I turn it on, you know, it’s on for me from 7 to 9 PM central time. So we’re watching at the same time Eastern time. I turned on the TV at seven o’clock and was watching the Senate debate between Colin Allred and Ted Cruz from Texas. I thought, well, I’m not going to watch this.
I don’t care. I thought, OK, well, they’re bringing Dancing with the Stars back and it’s going to be airing in Texas from 8 to 10 o’clock. Well, they didn’t do that either. We basically just danced with the stars from eight to nine. So when the show came on at eight o’clock, I knew before I even looked at the tour guide that it was only an hour long show.
So I just assumed, oh, tonight’s show is an hour long. No, that’s not the case. They basically cut out the first hour of Texas because of the Senate debate, and the show started with Derek dancing with his wife Haley, which was obviously very emotional. I could have sworn they promoted this three weeks ago, though.
Next week, Derek and Hailey, they said. I’m sure I heard it right? That was supposed to be two weeks ago and if I remember correctly it got postponed and it doesn’t really matter when it was supposed to air anyway. I’m just saying I can dance with stars Derek and Hailey next week.
This was about two or three weeks ago. So anyway, great dance, obviously very emotional. She was back on the dance floor for the first time since that incident. This is something I don’t know and it doesn’t make any sense now. Because apparently Derek and Hailey are married, and they’re happily married.
I had no idea Hailey was from So You Think He Could Dance World, she and Ellen dated for a few years, a long time ago. I have no idea. Then I started using Tik TOK. By the way, the new stuff that comes up on my Tik TOK, it seems like every two or three posts is Big Brother news and Saturday night skits with Ariana Grande and three other women.
Saturday Night Live parodied Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso because they were bridesmaids and they were singing a song but they couldn’t sing as bridesmaids and they sang a song about how the bride was single in Charleston Song to cheat on her husband at party, South Carolina. I swear every third video is a clip from that particular sketch from last Saturday night.
Anyway, as I was scrolling through, one of the other clips I saw was a Dancing with the Stars video that talked about Ellen and Hailey dating before. They met. So do you think he can dance? They went on a summer tour so you’d think he could dance. They also showed a clip of a dance in which it was just the two of them, and they kissed at the end of the dance.
I have no idea. I didn’t know they danced. They also brought up the fact that Mark Ballast once dated Whitney. I guess. There was some tension there at some point, perhaps while Whitney’s now-husband was on a two-year Mormon mission, which was played on Dancing with the Stars between Mark and Whitney Old dance clip, during which he kisses her multiple times.
I could be wrong about the timing, but it seems like Mark and Whitney were together at some point. They also said, I think a long time ago, Mark and Julianne Hough were together, but we all know Mark and Julianne and the Hough family, a long time ago, Derek and Mark were best friends and they’ve been dancing ever since. They were kids, so it wasn’t that weird that Mark and Julianne had something in the past, but Whitney and Mark’s stuff.
News to me, I had no idea what season it was. They did this dance together and he kissed her, but the speculation in this particular Tik TOK video, I don’t even know, I’m not going to delve into it. This seems to be the time when Whitney and her now-husband go on morning missions together.
So maybe they broke up during that time, you know, it wasn’t considered cheating or anything, but regardless, I came across the video that was really interesting because I learned two things that I didn’t know. I had no idea Whitney and Mark had a past, which is not surprising. I mean, they’re in the dance world.
They have been on the show for over ten years. Many people are affiliated with the show. Second, for whatever reason, I had no idea that Ellen ever dated Derek’s current wife, Hailey. so. For me, it started after an hour and I didn’t go back to watch the first hour on Disney+, at least not yet. Maybe I will later in the week, but honestly the ones I want to watch every week are Joey and Jen.
It’s not that I don’t like the other dancers, you know, Chandler is great. Steven is fine. It’s just that those are the ones that get the most attention, and they are all performed in the second hour. Then will I go back to see us? I have no idea. Maybe, maybe not, but Joey. Killed it again. The judges absolutely loved him.
He is a finalist. He will likely be in the final two games. The only question is whether he can surpass Chandler. I didn’t know Chandler before this season. I don’t even think I’ve ever heard her name, but that happens to me all the time when it comes to Disney employees. I didn’t, I hadn’t heard of a lot of them before they were on the show.
and. Maybe her support is huge. Bigger than Bachelor Nation? I don’t know, but maybe Joey does have a good chance of winning this fight. I thought Jen was great last night. Whenever you offer anything to Taylor Swift, I will give it my all. Great song. I totally understand why she chose this. You know, the episode I saw was brilliant.
I can’t say I’m shocked that Gleb and Brooks were eliminated. Yes. Are they the worst dancers left? No, they are not. They are absolutely not. My thoughts are, I just don’t think Brooks’ appearance works against her in a show like this. She’s perfect for the show.
I know a lot of people don’t want to admit it, but women love to hate on women, especially on social media. I’m not saying people hate Brooks, and I’m not saying the women who voted on this show hate Brooks. I just think they’d rather vote for someone more relevant to them. I just don’t think Brooks can relate because she’s a 10.
Let’s face it. Really, really attractive women don’t really get the benefit of the doubt on this show. They just don’t do it. They want to find someone they can relate to more easily. I think most of the people who vote on this show, most of the women who vote on this show, they can’t relate to Brooks Nader.
They can certainly relate to Jen Tran. They could certainly relate more to Joey. They certainly resonate more with Ilona, Ilona, Ilona Marr than Brooks Nader, the SI cover swimsuit model. Like, okay. You know, look, I think that’s a testament to the fact that she’s the fifth person to be eliminated, and she’s certainly not the worst dancer left by far.
She’s a better dancer than Dwight, but I also don’t think the relationship with Gleb helps. Like, oh, great. Two sexy people are hooking up on the show. Wonderful. Why do we need to vote for her? You know, it’s just my thoughts. But she’s gone now, and we won’t see them again until the finale. Maybe then they’ll talk openly about their relationship, maybe not.
Maybe they just kept it a secret, or maybe it was just a spur of the moment for the show once they stopped practicing for hours every day.
