We’ll look back at yesterday’s hometown date with Grant and Dina in Chicago or Illinois. We’re also going to talk a little bit about Dancing with the Stars.
There is such a thing. It dawned on me, and I didn’t even realize it. We’ll discuss Wednesday night’s challenge. I finally got around to watching it yesterday and I got an email from a listener that I will respond to. Then I have an event to attend this weekend. I wouldn’t call it an incident.
It’s more like a movie and I do it for a reason. And explanations or other signs that I’m getting older. We’ll get to all this later. Okay, let’s get started. Yesterday at Illinois, I told you last week that the final four were Julianna, Zoe, Latiya and Dina. We had photos and videos of Julianna last Friday, where are they?
Connecticut? I don’t remember where the date was in her hometown. Something like that. No, not Connecticut. Massachusetts, what am I talking about? Newton, Massachusetts. And then I said Joey’s, uh, Joey’s Zoe’s, uh, was last Sunday in New York. Tuesday it was Latiya, Wyoming, and yesterday it was Deena, Illinois.
We didn’t get anything. No photos or videos of Zoe or Latia’s hometown date. But yesterday there were some photos of Grant and Dina on the Chicago Riverwalk, and I also have photos of him alone, waiting for her to show up. TMZ posted some photos of them walking the Riverwalk, and then there’s a TikTok account that shows them in front of a pumpkin patch, a pop-up in Lemoyne called Jack’s Pumpkins.
I think that’s where they go from the daytime part to the night part and then wherever they go for the night part, uh, for family and so on, but it’s, um, you know, the stuff that I post there in my ’s Instagram Stories and Twitter account. I also revealed this on my Instagram story yesterday because it reminded me that last week, after I eliminated the Final Four, I got a few emails telling me how Dina could possibly be the Final Four Four people, because she lives in Chicago or, you know, they’ll be in Illinois on their last day, but they’re going to Illinois from Wyoming.
Aren’t they going back to California today for the final Four Roses Ceremony? I said, look, I don’t know what to tell you. All I know is that Dina has had her fourth Hometown Day. Well, that was apparently proven yesterday, with her date being there and videos and pictures leaking from it. Yesterday I also explained and told you for the first time that not only did Alex get first place on the season, but once I gave you the two panel dates and who was on the two panel dates for episode two, we were Got it, the 10-person basketball date and the 7-person R&B date don’t include Alex.
So she got the first one on a date this season. Well, Alex got her first impression of the rose, too. I hinted at this a few days ago, I hinted at it yesterday, I believe on my Game of Roses podcast, I remember telling them off camera yesterday just to give them a heads up, I said, look, this is not what this is. Earth-shattering things happened during the season, but something happened on the first night that had never happened before.
This is the first impression. Whoever makes the first impression is the rose. They got a hint, whoever gets the first impression rose gets the first rose of the season. So, like I said, this has never happened before, but it’s not like, oh, wow, the sky is falling apart. This is not the case. It’s just something different.
So, it’s kind of like Leah got the, uh, letter. Remember when she showed up at Joey’s house after the final rose, they gave her a letter and said, open it at the opening ceremony and cocktail party the first night. Yeah, you can steal one one day, you know, they’re just trying something different. They don’t actually change anything.
Leah threw the letter into the fire. So it has no bearing on anything that happens during Joey’s season. and then. They added a little twist there where they announced that whoever gets the first impression of the rose gets the first impression of the season. Well, it got to Alex, but she didn’t.
Her first impression of roses. She won first place this season. She didn’t even make the Final Four. What is the other one? This has only happened once, I believe in Bachelor history, when the first impression rose recipient ultimately won. That’s Hannah Ann. I don’t even know if we can.
Technically, she’s a quote-unquote winner. I mean, she, she did it, she was the final choice, so I guess she did fit. Yes. Alex, women are told, hey. First impression Rose won the first place this season, but Alex did not enter the semi-finals. So, uh, just wanted to point that out yesterday.
Tonight is the final four rose ceremony and hopefully I will find out soon. Maybe this weekend I’ll find out who was eliminated. I have no idea. Then I hope to find out at some point where they will be going for the night and final rose ceremony. I’ll let you know that. Once I hear it. You know, earlier this week we talked about Dancing with the Stars .
I say, there was one thing that happened in Monday’s episode that either I misheard that day or they screwed up and never gave us a reason because I had the impression that I thought about it in the second episode A point or three, they said next week, Derek and Haley, Derek will be dancing with his wife Haley.
She returned to the ballroom for the first time. I was like, didn’t they say this was going to happen two or three weeks ago? A lot of you emailed me and said, yes, they did say that. And then they never explained why this happened last Monday, you know, it wasn’t a big deal. I just thought I was going crazy because I thought, I could have sworn they told us this happened two or three weeks ago, and they said next week Derek was going to dance with his wife.
And then he did it the next week. And then I don’t think he did it next week, but we know he did it this Monday and it was a great dance, very emotional. She’s clearly been through a lot. As Derek said, it’s a miracle she’s still alive. So congrats to them, but man, I’m glad I didn’t go crazy, that’s basically what I’m saying.
Another thing that happened last Monday that I never realized because I’ve watched every episode of every season of Dancing with the Stars, again, everything just clicked together for me. If you asked me to think back on some of the winners and where people ranked over the years over the course of 33 seasons, I couldn’t tell you.
I know Mark Ballast has been a pro for many seasons. I think he was, I think I read, he played 20 out of 33 seasons. I read something yesterday where apparently he’s back and he’s a guest judge, literally. I don’t know, it’s a lot better than having fucking Gene Simmons as a judge, who’s not a dancer and doesn’t like the choreography and basically stares at all the women and then gives Terrible score.
So stupid to bring him here. Well, I know they regret it. I know Gene said, hey, everyone had a good time. I don’t regret anything I did. Yes, but everyone else does. Gene, you are horrible. Please don’t come back to watch this show. When I read that Mark was the guest judge again, I watched every episode of season 33 and I could have sworn at one point, Mark Ballast was the guest judge and like one episode they had him come back and do his Things done this past Monday.
But as far as I know, from what I read yesterday, this is the first time he’s been back as a judge. Like, he’s never been a judge before on a season where he’s not dancing because he doesn’t look like a pro. Every season, like I said, I think 20 out of the 33 seasons, I could have sworn Mark Ballas was a guest judge again at least once before that.
I might be confusing him with Max, not because they look alike or anything, but I know Max has been brought back, and I would say Max has been brought back as a guest judge more than once. But Mark, man, I could have sworn Mark was a judge before last Monday, but apparently not.
This was his first time back as a guest judge and he did a great job. I mean, look, he’s a professional dancer. This is the guest review they need. Like I said, future guest judges will only be former dancers or professional choreographers. They hired Mandy Moore. They brought in Rosie Perez.
They brought in another choreographer. I know they brought in that Dance Moms woman that no one seemed to like. Abby Lee Miller. Is this her name? Didn’t she once serve as a guest judge? I’m sure this will make people uncomfortable, but regardless, please bring someone with experience in dance, not Gene Simmons, who can’t judge dance to save his life.
That’s just. That’s bad. I think, I guess, I mean, if Dancing with the Stars is being honest with itself, I’m pretty sure they realized that after all the backlash they went through. Yeah, that’s not smart of us to do that. Will they admit it publicly? Probably not. Maybe in the future they’ll just say, we want to bring back the judge.
