The Daily Roundup you’re listening to is part of the Reality C Podcast. I’m your host, Reality Steve. Thank you all for watching this Tuesday. On the last day of 2024, we’ll be reviewing every episode of our daily roundup. No, I’m just kidding. No, that won’t happen.
But let’s talk about New Year’s Eve, one of the most overrated events of the year. Laura Owens’ attorney, David Gingras, was caught using a Reddit account. I just wanted to give myself a pat on the back and say that I called an hour earlier than he did and that was exactly what he was going to say.
I’ll read it to you. Kristen Cavallari talks about her F-friend relationship with Morgan Wallen, which had me stuck in my head and discovering something I didn’t know. We have two other women coming out in support of Blake Lively, but unrelated to this. It ends with us, though. Back to what I said the day the story broke.
I say, now that Blake Lively has done this, you’re going to start hearing more actresses come forward and talk about their experiences of being uncomfortable on set with directors, co-stars, etc., and yesterday there were two more names came out in support of Blake. Maybe I’ll tell the story about that guy from the other day.
We’ll get to all this later. First of all I want to say happy 2024 to everyone. Looking forward to a wonderful 2025. On my website, anyone who supports this podcast in any way, shape, or form will listen, listen, comment, email. Thanks. You are the ones who keep me in business.
You guys make me throw a party every year. Pay the full fee and there is no charge to attend the party. Next year we’ll have a four-hour open beer and bar with appetizers. So I thank you all for that. I hope everyone had a very prosperous 2024 and looking forward to an even better 2025 before asking, Hey Steve, what are you doing in the New Year?
I do the same thing every night. That’s okay, I’m not going to watch some old TV show, uh, when the clock strikes midnight tonight, or watch an old movie, I’ve never really been a New Year’s person. I can’t remember the last time I did anything party-related on New Year’s Day.
I would like to say that there was a memorable New Year about 10 years ago, but we will not discuss that. But yeah, I’ve never been a big New Year’s person. I think it’s overrated. Did you know? I shouldn’t say that because when I was in my twenties, going out for Chinese New Year was all I wanted to do. But as I got older, I didn’t even have kids.
I think most people with kids, especially younger kids, just don’t care, oh, you have to go out to a New Year’s Eve party this year. No, most people want to stay home with their families. I don’t have kids and I don’t care about New Year’s. I don’t have to go out to certain parties. I don’t want to go out to some party.
So, yeah, it’s not, uh, I’ve just never been a New Year’s person. And, but if you’re in your late twenties, early twenties, early twenties, early twenties, I understand that you want to do something big, not even a big thing, but just want to go out and be around people on New Year’s Eve Let’s celebrate you together.
I get it. I was there. Going back in time, but I’d say since I was in my thirties, I don’t think I’ve done a damn thing for a group of people on New Year’s. I did a few things over the New Year. I was on New Year’s Day. Uh, I’m in Vegas for New Year’s. I think three years ago, that was fun. When Katy Perry was seen leaving her show, about 45 minutes later, well, the New Year was upon us.
So, it’s interesting. I enjoyed that trip. And then, like I said, ten years ago, there was another, uh, trip. Well, is this a trip? That’s what happened that night, and I won’t take it too personally, but other than that, I’ve never been one to have to be at a New Year’s party.
Happy 2024 to everyone. 2025 is coming up, and gosh, that means, I mean, we’ve been eight years into the podcast, and gosh, gosh, time flies, doesn’t it? 2025. We are also close to 2050.
OK Just wanted to point this out. If you’re one of those people who follows everything that’s going on with Laura Owens, Clayton Eckerd, her attorney David Gingras, well, he yesterday Arrested for having a Reddit account, people discovered his old tweets from two days ago, he said. That was certainly true of his tweet two days ago.
I don’t use Reddit. I don’t need to send a private message and hope they don’t lie about who they are. I have access to this person’s actual contact information. Because he’s trying to subpoena a Reddit account. So he knew who said what was said about him. Then they discovered a tweet from May 21 of this year. Of course, I’m not on it.
I never said I was short for Twitter. I would like to take two minutes to provide information. I only blog when I need to have a longer discussion. Reddit never has. Disharmony, no chance, life is too short. So basically it’s like, oh, I’m never going to be on Reddit. And, well, a judge of Clayton’s Instagram account discovered that he does have a Reddit account.
He has posted in many different subreddits. The funny thing is, I’ve been texting with Rachel Juarez about this case, about Gingras, about the stupid tweets he sent out. By the way, I haven’t spoken to David Gingras in almost a month. Just like we had those conversations.
I have spoken to him four times in my life. All four calls were recorded. They are still on my desktop and will probably never be used. No reason, I just wanted to have them, uh, for security purposes. But after the fourth time I called him, I realized he had failed and I didn’t really have any reason to talk to him anymore because of what I saw with him.
I mean, he was nice to me on the phone. There was never any argument in our conversation. I just think. What he tweeted, well, his intentions. This guy will never admit he’s wrong. I just, this is too much for me. I just don’t want to deal with him anymore. But the funny thing is, when I texted Rachel about it, she said: Hey, did you see Jinger got caught using a Reddit account?
I said, I knew exactly what he was going to say. Because he didn’t say anything at the time. He didn’t address it like on Twitter, people were tagging him and everyone was like, what do you mean you don’t have a Reddit account? We found it. here it is. This is you making a comment. Justice for Clayton’s Reddit account who has never commented.
He does have a Reddit account. I told Rachel specifically that I texted her at 7:37 Central Time. It wasn’t until he solved the problem. I think in an hour or three hours. I said, I sent a text message to Rachel. I said, and I knew his reaction was, I was talking about Joint Forces Command. When he said in those tweets I just read, I don’t use Reddit.
I said, that’s exactly what he was going to say. He’d say, oh, I’m not going to use Reddit to talk about Clayton’s justice. Uh, but, yeah, I have an account and it looks like, there’s no way to prove whether he did it or not, but he can, he can say what he wants to say. But if he has an active account, I guarantee you he’s seen it and he’s been on Reddit looking at what people are posting.
He could say, no, I don’t. You can never prove it. No, I can’t. I just believe, just like there are things I can’t prove, but I believe there are a lot of things in the Laura Owens case that I can prove. Dave Neal has proven this. There are certain things, certain things that I just believe because I don’t think she’s very believable.
So, when this came out, I just thought it was funny that I texted Rachel. Three hours later, David Gingras said something about the fact that people were being arrested, and he has a Reddit account, and he said, seriously, guys, calm down. I never said I used Reddit. I have. I never said I never posted anything on Reddit.
I have. What I said is, I’m not going to argue this case on Reddit. I don’t. Nothing about the case has ever been posted on Reddit. I said exactly what he wanted to say. He can’t take L. Because look, when he wrote these tweets two days ago, why didn’t he just say, yes, I have a Reddit account.
Like he did in this tweet last night. Why doesn’t he just say, yes, I have a Reddit account, but I don’t read JFC stuff. That’s what I mean. I mean, this is the childish behavior we’re dealing with. Like I said, that’s why I didn’t really text this guy.
Let me look at my text messages and I can tell you the last thing I texted David Gingras. Oh, I have to type “G” into my phone. I had none of them under David. I put them under the Gingras. Send message. Friday, December 6th, August 23rd.
He was going to do the whole podcast with me and do so much with the podcast studio that he and Laura were using that Laura decided to report to the attorney general and, uh, the Better Business Bureau. So December 6th, I mean, actually three and a half weeks ago was the last time I had any contact with him, just because I felt like it was pointless.
I basically disagreed with everything he told me, and we never had a controversial conversation. I have four conversations with David Gingras stored on my desktop. None of them are bad. It’s just that we didn’t actually agree on anything, and I don’t think he listened. I mean, here’s a man who admitted to me in a conversation that all the joint force commanders want to talk about is the past.
I’m working on her appeal and everything that comes next. I said, I totally understand, David. You have to understand that from September to April of last year, or when you took office in April of this year, those people knew much more about this case. From September 2023 to April 2024 when you took over, they knew more about the case.
He said, I agree, but at the same time, he said he believed everything Laura told him. It’s just that it makes no sense. You can’t believe everything your customers tell you. On the other hand, when you admit, you don’t know everything that happens between September 2023 and April 2024.
Once we disagree, you know, once we disagree on this. When I realized he told me this, but he still stood by everything Laura told him. This makes no sense. This is very, very hypocritical. You can’t say, I believe everything Laura Owens told me, and that she never lied to me, when you admit that you don’t know everything about this case.
A seven-month case, not a few weeks, not a month, not two months, a seven-month case, you don’t know all the details. So how can you also say she has never lied to me? That’s what I mean. It’s just that once he can’t admit it, he can’t admit it, we’re never going to go anywhere. I mean, here’s the thing, he admitted it, he admitted it to me on the phone.
From September until I took over, JFC staff knew more about the case. I admit it. Great. Then you can’t say at the same time that you believe Laura and everything she tells you. That’s what I mean. So we really got nowhere. I just realized there’s nothing left to talk to him about, but I saw him being called out on Twitter yesterday and I texted Rachel, which was fun.
I said that was exactly what he was going to say to get out of trouble. He would say, oh no, no, no. I’m just saying, I’ve never used Reddit to talk about this case or the JFC staff. Three hours later, that’s exactly what he tweeted.
