The Daily Roundup you’re listening to is part of the Reality Steve Podcast. I’m your host, Reality Steve. Thank you all for watching this Monday. I have a good show for you today. I’m going to go over some of the things I talked about on Friday’s call or podcast. Maybe it was Thursday. It’s officially over.
This is the Taylor Swift Eras tour, which has been going on for 18 months. We will honor that. The story of Suri Cruz and Tom Cruise. We hear very little about him and her, probably because they had no relationship. But a report surrounding the issue emerged for the first time this weekend, with Katie Holmes actually speaking out about it.
Plus, we’ll get some SNL dialogue and a few other stories. We’ll get to all this later. So remember Friday, when I talk about the fact that Thursday’s podcast, “Wait, Thursday is six,” Friday is the sixth. So on Friday’s podcast. I was like, I always forget if my podcast anniversary is December 4th or December 6th?
Friday, I was like, yeah, my anniversary was eight years ago, December 4th, 2016 was my first podcast, and I was like, okay, what do I need to do? You know, I always forget if it’s the 4th or the 6th, I always, I, I always know it’s the first week of December, but for whatever reason, I may never remember whether it’s the 4th or the 6th. No. 6.
So I thought, hey, I’ll set an alarm on my phone, and that’s what I do for most things that remind me. So weekend. I put a reminder on my phone, Hey, December 6th Podcast Reminder, set to notify me once a year. And then I realized, wait a minute, if I set the alarm to six, or see, I’ve, I’ve confuse myself.
The fourth is my anniversary. So I set it, I set the reminder every year for December 4th, but then over the weekend I realized, wait a minute. I just set my annual reminder for December 4th. Well, it didn’t help that I recorded my fourth podcast the night before my third. So I need to remind myself on December 3rd, hey, tomorrow’s podcast, you actually recorded it tonight on the 3rd, you need to remind people, it’s your anniversary.
So I’m glad I grabbed myself because it was a great opportunity. 365 days are about to go by and I’m going to get a reminder on my phone on December 4th, 2025, Hey, today is your, well, next year will be my ninth anniversary of starting this podcast. I’ll be a day late again because I’ll be like, oh, crap, I didn’t see it until the fourth day.
In fact, I’m proud of myself for catching that. I made the association and hey, you gotta record it. You have to remind yourself on the third day of every year. This is what I do. The date on my phone now is December 3rd. This is also not hard to remember because December 3rd is the birthday of a good friend of mine.
So I have this on my phone, and now I have an alert that says, Hey, dumbass. Tomorrow is your podcast anniversary. Don’t forget to mention this in the podcast recorded on December 3rd. Speaking of, well, I guess it’s not really an anniversary, but we’re done touring in the Taylor Swift era.
The weekend she just spent in Vancouver, Canada is the last weekend or the last stop of her tour that starts in March 2023. And then it got extended, and then it got extended, and then the international dates came and then it was like, oh no, even after the internationals, I’m going to be back in the States for New Orleans, Miami and Indianapolis .
So I’m pretty sure she’s been to every NFL stadium (if I remember correctly). I mean, obviously for Swift, when she did her last two tours, the reputation and the era that she did, she only did stadiums. She doesn’t do arenas anymore. so. Looking a little bit, I’m checking out all the NFL teams right now.
Buffalo, I don’t think she did. I don’t think she did a show in Buffalo. But Miami, absolutely, she did Hard Rock Stadium. The Jets and Giants, she also has MetLife. New England, I’m pretty sure she did it in Foxborough. Pittsburgh, I know she did, now what, Arkshaw Stadium? Baltimore. Did she do “Baltimore”? I’m sure if she did, she did it where the Ravens were playing.
Cincinnati, I’m almost certain she did. Cleveland, I’m almost certain she did. I know she did NRG in Houston. I know she built their stadium in Indianapolis. I don’t know if she ever went to Jacksonville. She definitely made it to Tennessee. She did it where the Titans played. She did, Kathy. That’s where her boyfriend played with the charger.
And she did. Sophie Denver. And she did. I don’t remember what it was. It’s still at the Power Stadium or something. Vegas. She apparently went to Philadelphia’s Allegiant Stadium. She did it in that stadium in Washington, DC. I’m sure she did. She definitely did it in Dallas. Because that’s where I’ve been. She took the AT and T Detroit.
I guess she did. Won’t bring Minnesota. I know she did their stadium. There’s obviously one thing she didn’t do in Green Bay. The bear she has played, she must have played in the military field. Correct. I don’t think she’s Tampa. Yes, she did Tampa. What am I talking about? Atlanta. She is definitely the Mercedes Benz Dome of New Orleans.
She photographed the Carolina Superdome. I believe she is home to the Seahawks. I’m sure she did. Obviously the Rams are playing. I believe Sophie, Arizona was the first stadium. She did it in San Francisco. So I mean, look at this outside of Green Bay. Jacksonville, I know she didn’t shoot Green Bay.
I have questions about Jacksonville and
She did all this. Carolina, New Orleans, Atlanta, Tampa. I think Jacksonville is probably the only other one. The only other NFL city she’s never been to. But, it’s an incredible feat. I have discussed this with my friends. So where will her career go from here? Like if she quit and retired, this is one of the greatest tours, if not the greatest tour ever.
She had one of the greatest careers of all time. I don’t think she’s done making music yet. I don’t think she’s done touring yet, but she’s going to do the next one. If she goes back to a normal tour and does 25, 28 songs in two and a half hours, are people going to be like, oh, oh, you gave us three and a half hours last time.
Why don’t you give it to us, you know, it almost feels like people are going to be disappointed. She is and she would do the same thing. I think, I don’t think she wanted to go back and do Arena, but she wanted to do a big, important production. Like, what is the next tour going to be like?
She only toured for a year and a half. Apparently, it will end in December 2024. I would be surprised if she tours in 2026 because the other thing is, we don’t know when the next album is coming out. If it comes, we just don’t know.
So I’m curious what’s next for her? Obviously I’ll be keeping an eye on it. I’ll support it, but there’s no way she’s going to top the Eras tour. Can she? No, she’s not going to do a four-and-a-half-hour show. The only thing she can do is basically do the same thing, I thought the Reputation tour was great, but what I watched online when she started the Era Tour in March 2023 in Arizona, we found out about her?
It was originally going to be three shows, and she did three and a half hours, no intermission, and she sang 45 songs that people loved, and that’s when we thought the tour was actually just in the U.S., well, she only announced it was in the U.S. About 55 cities or 55 dates, something like that. We knew she was going to add an international component to this tour, but no one in a million years thought of it, and I think it ended up being closer to 150 shows over the course of a year and a half.
This has never been done before. Will never do this again. Maybe an orchestra will do it, but it’s one thing to have an orchestra sitting on the stage. It was the same thing all the time, and it lasted two and a half or three hours. I think that’s completely different. And then there’s what Swift has accomplished in the past year and a half.
Yes, I’m definitely trying to suck up to you, but whether you like Taylor Swift or not, you can’t argue that this is one of the most impressive things to happen in the history of music, if not the most impressive, to be objective, Just saying, wow, unbelievable, over 150 different shows, no intermission, three and a half hours, 45 songs.
If you’ve never been there, I understand because it’s very expensive, but let me tell you, it’s one of the greatest things you’ll ever see. It’s so good. So I just wanted to show support for Taylor Swift and wish her an incredible tour and probably the most memorable tour in the history of music. It was undoubtedly the most profitable tour in music history.
Congratulations to her on a very successful run. Can’t wait to see what happens next for her. This podcast is sponsored by, Here We Go. Mint phone. Very very easy to do.
