Earlier this week, it was announced Kyle Chandler (“The Blood,” “Catch-22,” “Friday Night”) is in talks to play Green Lantern Hal Jordan in DC Studios’ upcoming HBO series lantern. We now know that an actor is reportedly in the pipeline to take on the role of John Stewart.
According to MTTSH, Damson Idris (33) were among the five people being considered for the role of John Stewart.
Idris is a British actor best known for his role in the film John Singleton’s crime drama, snowfallThe show premiered on FX in 2017 and ended in 2023 after six seasons. He also co-stars in Netflix’s 2021 sci-fi action film, outside the wire.
The series will focus on new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, “two intergalactic police officers who become entangled in a dark Earthly mystery while investigating a murder in America’s heartland.”
