Warner Music Group has announced that Dan Rosen, current president of Warner Music Australia, will expand his responsibilities to include Warner Chappell Music.
The move unites the leadership of Australia and New Zealand’s recorded music and publishing businesses.
Rosen will report to both parties Guy MutterCo-Chairman and CEO of Warner Chappell Music, and Simon RobsonPresident of Recorded Music for WMG Europe, the Middle East and Africa, is also currently responsible for recorded music operations in Asia Pacific.
WMG said the move underscores its commitment to “creating a new, all-encompassing home for Australia’s artists and songwriters, while retaining the unique identity of each sector”.
WMG said the executive “brings exceptional skill, a flexible approach and a natural curiosity to Rosen, who is deeply rooted in the creative industries and has a deep understanding of the publishing business in addition to being an artist and songwriter himself.”
In his newly expanded role, Rosen will be tasked with growing Warner Chappell Music Australia’s business, “cultivating[ing] Cooperation between the two departments reaches a new level and creates[ing] New opportunities for artists and songwriters”.
WMG said that under Rosen’s leadership, Warner Music Australia has achieved significant growth in domestic and international revenue, with deals signed with newcomers such as Brad Cox, James Johnson and Atlantic Records co-signed Balu Brigada and Blusher, and supported the careers of Budjerah, Kita Alexander and Oliver Cronin.
WMG said Rosen is also committed to cultivating Warner Music’s global stars in the region, with the likes of Benson Boone, Charli xcx, Fred Again and Teddy Swims all finding success in the market.

Rosen began his career as a founding member of the band Second Dan, which rose to prominence after winning Triple J’s Unearthed competition in 2003.
In addition to music, Rosen is a qualified lawyer and policy expert, has served as a senior adviser to the Australian government, and was a recipient of a Fulbright scholarship to graduate school at New York University.
