david tennant, star doctor who recent, opponentwill return to host the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has confirmed that the Scottish actor will take on the task for the second year running, attending the awards ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall at Southbank Center on Sunday 16 February.
“It’s weird,” Tennant told hollywood reporter About being asked to step back into the role of host. “Because it’s not something I ever imagined I’d be asked to do, or particularly eager to do – it’s one of those things that just comes out of the blue. You’d think I might not be able to say no to this because it’s such a unique thing to be a part of. matter.
“When they asked me back, I thought, ‘Really, are you sure?’ But, you know, why not?
Tennant has had an extensive career in film, television and radio, including iconic roles in: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, good sign, broadchurchand doctor who. Most recently, he starred in the popular television adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s novel opponent.
BAFTA chief executive Jane Millichip said: “We are delighted that David Tennant will return to host the EE BAFTA Film Awards in 2025.”

The EE BAFTA Film Awards consist of 25 competitive categories, decided by BAFTA members. The first round of voting for the 2025 Film Awards begins on Friday, December 6.
