Our days better have a proper Hortons Christmas.
It’s a fan-favorite tradition that we need now more than ever with Doug’s passing and John potentially passing away in early 2025.

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of December 23, 2024 say Jolie will face off with Doug III on Christmas Day
A Hortons Christmas episode should not only be about family coming together, hanging decorations, and celebrating each other, but it should also be a break from the usual drama.
That was always the case during the golden era of Days of Our Lives. The Christmas episode left viewers with a warm and fuzzy feeling, like they had spent Christmas with their extended family.
This gradually narrows down and Christmas is usually a normal day with decorations put up in the last five minutes.
The rushed Christmases of the past few years have been hard enough, but don’t tell me we’ll be skipping the decoration hanging (or the holidays) entirely this year!
I’m still grieving the loss of Blue Bloods Dinner, so Days of Our Lives better give me a real Christmas episode.
Don’t get me wrong. It would be a Christmas miracle if Julie faced Doug III and ended this stupid storyline with her adopting a stranger just because he claimed to be Doug’s grandson. But it should be combined with a real Christmas celebration, especially with Jack. Jennifer and JJ are in town this time.
Will Leo help Doug III?
Doug III tells Leo a sad story about how he stole the necklace just to pay off a debt and now feels bad because the Horton family was so good to him, prompting Leo to take the necklace.
I hope Leo will rat out Doug III.
He was with Steven on the day he was accused of stealing, and the last thing Steven said to him was that he wanted to set him up with his son Spencer.
This is where Leo’s loyalty should lie, not some random guy knocking on his door with an expensive necklace and a sad backstory of why he had “no choice” but to steal it and sell it story.
(Side note: If Doug III’s grandfather was Doug Sr. and there was no Doug Jr., then he can’t be Doug III.)
However, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12/23/24 say Leo will come to the aid of Doug III.
Interestingly, this will happen after Raph hands Heidi over to Leo.
I’m not really sure how this is supposed to work – Rafe is a private investigator, not a police officer, and Leo is a private citizen, so isn’t this a kidnapping?
Yet this nonsense happened in Salem. So I’ll leave it at that for now.
Regardless, I wonder if what Heidi says will affect Leo’s decision about Doug III, so I’m curious about this set of spoilers.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of December 23 promise a celebration (but not necessarily Christmas)
Some people will get into the Christmas spirit, just like Xander and Sarah should be celebrating.
The bigger news, however, is that the Carver family is celebrating twins’ birthdays the day after Christmas.
(Holly’s birthday is on Christmas Eve, so it should be celebrated too – hopefully she won’t get drunk this time.)
Paulina, Abe, and probably Chanel will be celebrating with Lani and Eli. These should at least give us some fun family scenes, but hopefully this will be a second celebration after Christmas.
Drama often happens at Salem parties, but I don’t know who would spoil this one. There have been rumors that Whitley will return, but I hope that doesn’t happen here.
This is a character we no longer need, especially if she pisses off Abe and his family anymore.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12/23 promise non-Christmas drama with Tate and Holly starring
Holly will inadvertently mess up Tate and Sophia’s plans to travel to another state to have an abortion, or whatever they decide to do with the baby.
I like that Days of Our Lives is addressing the confusing issue of reproductive rights being sent back to the states (and the issue of parental consent for pregnant teens in some states), although I wish this story would be taken seriously.
It’s time for the show to return to the groundbreaking, progressive show it once was.
That said, Tate’s decision not to tell Holly what was going on was foolish.
He knows Holly and Sophia still have a rivalry, and he and Holly got back together after the scandal over Holly’s lies and manipulation of Brady led to their breakup.
What else could Tate accomplish by keeping this big secret, except that he was so hypocritical that he and Holly ended up breaking up again?
Ava and Brady face new threat
I don’t like Ava and Brady as a couple. I hope Brady doesn’t go back to the people who dated his dad, wreaked havoc on the rest of Salem, and don’t mind using violence if they don’t get what they want.
The person threatening them might be Kristen, so the only saving grace is that Ava won’t be intimidated by her.
Christine used to remind me of Yellowstone’s Beth Dutton, but lately she’s become weak and whiny, so I’m rooting for Ava to win over her.
If Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12/23/24 have to include Ava and Brady being threatened, I hope it ends with Kristen taking her place once and for all.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12/23/24 say EJ will have an unwelcome guest
EJ has been deteriorating lately, so I like the idea of him being forced to entertain people he doesn’t want.
Double points if it was Joy and he tried to kick her out of Salem (although I would be concerned for her safety if she lived with him.)
I hope this isn’t stupid or pointless, like Susan coming back for another visit and annoying her son.
However, this could also set up the story for Who Shot EJ, which is set to be released in 2025, which should be good.
Good news is coming: Rafe and Jada set wedding date
I don’t believe Rafe and Jada are a couple, mostly because Rafe has a million wives, and I’m still bitter about Days of Our Lives blowing up Rafe and Nicole for no reason.
However, it could be good news if their wedding turns into a real marriage and they are able to live together. With material from new writers set to begin airing in April, this could happen!
Now, they’ve finally set a date, which should lead to some congratulatory scenes from Harvey and Gabi. I miss our Horton family, but I get to spend some Hernandez family time, especially during the holidays.
As expected, JJ and Gabi are getting closer
I’m glad JJ is back in town, but I’m not sure if he and Gabby will try it again.
Unsurprisingly, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12/23/24 promise they will take a step in this direction.
I had a hard time forgiving her for calling that questionable encounter with Lani “coma sex,” as if a comatose drunk could consent to anything. Plus, she was newly divorced and I don’t like the trope of people starting new relationships seconds after an epic heartbreak.
However, there have been hints of a relationship for some time. Julie hates the idea, and Gabby denies she has feelings for JJ, so it’s only a matter of time before they get back together.
