Some stories don’t need to continue into 2025 after Days of Our Lives, and the Chanel/Johnny/Joy mess is one of them.
Unfortunately, it’s likely it will all fall apart on New Year’s Eve.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of December 30 more or less confirm that Chanel will start the new year with a broken heart. At least there will be some strong drama at the end of this horrific story!
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12/30/24 hint that Johnny and Chanel will throw a disastrous New Year’s Eve party
Parties never go well in Days of Our Lives, so it’s no surprise that Johnny and Chanel’s New Year’s Eve bash happens no matter what.
You’d think that after everything that happened at Johnny’s surprise birthday party, these two would have sworn off hosting such events again, but that’s not the case.
In a sense, it’s poetic. The final party failed because Johnny mistakenly believed that Chanel was trying to organize the party to have an affair with Alex.
It took Chanel weeks of groveling to forgive him. It was time to come clean about Joey.
Chanel will be heartbroken and repairing the relationship will be harder, but at least they won’t be doing the same thing again in a few months!
It’s unclear how this will all play out, but one thing is for sure: This drama will not only tear Johnny and Chanel apart, but also Abe and Paulina.
Paulina’s help might make things worse
Lani and Eli left town, which was too bad because Chanel needed as much family support as possible.
At least she still had Paulina. Her mother is her staunchest defender, which Chanel may need right now.
Still, Paulina might do something completely out of character to protect her baby girl, and have no idea where that will end up.
The woman bursts into the ward muttering, “We’ll see!” when she’s told Abe can’t have any visitors after being hit in the head, and when she learns that Whitley kidnapped Abe and made him think she was Pauline Na, she was ready to rip Whitley King to shreds.
How bad will she be as she avenges Chanel’s heartbreak? Most people wouldn’t dare stand up to EJ on his best days, but Paulina wouldn’t hesitate to take her anger out on him or his son.
How will Paulina’s anger affect multiple EJ storylines?
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12/30/24 don’t mention Paulina’s confrontation with EJ, but we already know his job is in jeopardy.
On Friday, Jada asked Paulina to do something about EJ. She wants Paulina to replace him because he is an incompetent and corrupt DA who will refuse to prosecute guilty people if there is a conflict of interest and will never recuse himself.
Paulina might be hesitant to play a musical DA. Her last switch from EJ to Trask and back again didn’t go well and probably didn’t help her approval ratings.
But even if Paulina is hesitant at first, she’ll quickly change her mind if she learns that EJ’s son broke her daughter’s heart.
EJ has bigger problems to deal with, considering Rafe’s doppelgänger has become a guest from hell and won’t leave, while the real Rafe is on his doorstep, but if he loses his DA position, he loses all his interest in any Man’s only influence.
A Story That Won’t Go Away: Fake Raph’s Bullshit
Unfortunately, this Rafe doppelgänger storyline will continue into the New Year, and Rafe may soon be in a tragic situation.
Only in Salem could someone run the risk of being thrown into a dungeon and replaced by a lookalike for ringing the doorbell, but here we go again.
Rafe is in the doorway, fake Rafe is in the living room, and the only way to end this is to lock Rafe in that damn secret room that the Salem Police Department never remembers to check when someone goes missing.
This story is old before it even begins. Doppelgangers have been a part of Days of Our Lives for as long as I can remember, but outgoing head writer Ron Carlivati has taken it to the next level, delivering a new doppelgänger story at least once a month.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12/30/24 say Jada thinks Rafe is “acting weird,” so it’s clear she’s dealing with fake Rafe and not her fiancé. ah.
Sofia and Tate might not have a happy New Year either
Tate screwed up by not telling Holly that his ex-girlfriend was pregnant.
Holly was already upset that he had turned on her former best friend so quickly, especially since he had sex with Sophia and wanted to wait endlessly for the right time to be with her, so if she found out , what would happen was that it turned out to be 50-50 that he and Sophia had a baby.
Still, Tate was just asking for trouble by lying to her about why he couldn’t go to the concert Friday night so he could go to an abortion clinic in another state with Sophia.
It doesn’t help that it looks like an affair, and Sofia wants it to be one.
Sofia has complained a lot about how unfair it was that Tate and Holly were happy together while she was pregnant with Tate’s child.
She thought his answer when he learned she was pregnant was to ditch Holly and be with her for the baby, and instead, he offered to go out of state with her so she could have an abortion.
Regardless, the abortion most likely wouldn’t have happened – assuming there was a baby in the first place, and Sophia’s behavior makes me curious.
This happens a lot on Days of Our Lives. Countless Salem women went to clinics but decided they couldn’t get treatment.
It’s a shame that Sophia can’t tell the true story about abortion. Explaining that she’s thinking about it, but that her super-religious family would never accept it, or accept her having sex before marriage, is a good start.
When reproductive rights in the United States are at risk, telling authentic stories is especially important, and Sophia Must Cross State Lines fits into that vein.
But turning it into a typical story about two girls jealous of each other and fighting over the same guy would ruin it, especially when Tate could have avoided the drama by telling Holly what happened hour.
Not everyone is going to have a miserable New Year
Believe it or not, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12/30/24 promise to bring some good news to some people.
As is typical for New Year’s Eve in TV Land, several couples will get together.
There might even be good news for Holly, as Doug III will listen sympathetically and she might move on with him. Sure, he’s a criminal who stole Alice Horton’s necklace, but still. There is potential there.
Sparks may also fly between Stephanie and Phillip, and Alex may decide to date Joey for real.
The most outstanding thing is. JJ and Gabby decided to take things to the next level.
I’m not sure how I feel about this since they’ve been dating together since JJ came back to town and Gabby is still in denial that she wants more than friendship, but at least it keeps both characters in Salem is the antidote to all the broken hearts, doom and gloom elsewhere.
