Spend a weekend recovering from the heartbreaking episode of Days of Our Lives in which Doug passes away.
There’s more to come, but there’s also new hope as someone comes to Salem claiming to be related to Doug.
Life will slowly return to normal and other stories will begin anew, but first, Doug will get the epic farewell he deserves.
Doug’s Death will bring back several old characters
Doug’s death coincides with Days of Our Lives’ 15,000th episode (no, that’s not a typo!), so it’s fitting that several characters from the distant past attend his funeral.
Of course, they come because they love Doug and want to support Julie. However, there was a silver lining to the heartbreaking loss as we received visits from people we had not seen in over forty years.
Liz Chandler, Mary Horton and Julie’s brother Steven will all attend the funeral in Salem.
Mary was the main character in the first few seasons of Days of Our Lives. She is the daughter of Alice, who became a nun after learning that the neighbor she fell in love with was actually her brother Tommy.
(Yes, even in those days there were some weird plot twists involving people with amnesia!)
Unfortunately, Mary and Liz didn’t get along well. They feuded years ago over their mutual love for Neil Curtis, and Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 2/12/24 say they will rekindle their old feud.
Julie didn’t need that kind of drama at Doug’s funeral.
It was bad enough that she lost the love of her life without her family fighting over ancient history!
Doug’s final farewell will go down as one of the saddest stories of our lives
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 2/12/24 say Doug’s funeral will take place within the first two days of the week.
These scenes are going to be intense.
Days of Our Lives funerals always move me because there is a large photo of the deceased hanging on the coffin.
This is what brought me to tears when I went to a close friend’s funeral in real life, and I’m sure it will be the same here.
Jolie will deliver a eulogy, which I’m sure will be twice as heartfelt and heartbreaking as usual, since Susan Seaforth Hayes and Bill Hayes were married in real life almost as long as their characters were on screen It takes the same amount of time.
From our scenes so far, I already feel like I’ve lost another grandparent. I couldn’t stop crying during Friday’s show and writing these scenes makes me feel so distraught all over again.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers 12-02-24 This week’s spoilers promise it won’t be all depressing
Sean, Lucas and Ciara are about to return for Doug’s funeral, and Ciara has some good news amid her grief.
Remember the time capsule that Julie couldn’t open? Siara finally figured it out.
Or maybe it was meant to be. There’s no word on why he didn’t attend the funeral, but he may be mentioned.
Either way, everyone will be excited to know what’s in that time capsule, including the people watching! Annoyingly, Days of Our Lives started this storyline but didn’t end it.
It’s important to have something to laugh about in the midst of sadness. This is also realistic.
When my grandmother died, and when my cousin found out she was accepted into her first choice school, we were all sitting in her house grieving, and suddenly, everyone was laughing.
We need this release, and Julie and her family need it, so these scenes will be painful relief.
Can Doug continue to live with his long-lost grandson?
Shortly after Doug’s death, a stranger showed up looking for Julie.
According to Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 2/12/24, the newcomer is Doug’s grandson, Doug Williams III, who pops up when he hears that his namesake has died.
I don’t know what to make of this spoiler.
It would be a good idea to have a temporary relative preserve Doug’s memory.
While it’s not a soap opera, “Blue Bloods” effectively does this with Joe Regan’s son, Joe Hill, whose existence was unknown to his family until he was an adult.
Still, Days of Our Lives has a poor track record with this type of story.
There’s a 50-50 chance that this guy is a liar and has his own reasons for claiming to be Doug’s grandson.
In a way, this would be a tribute to Doug, since his relationship with Julie began with him pretending to be in love with her as part of a scam, but it’s still pretty uncool.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 2/12/24 say Leo will also meet someone new.
If anyone could see through the scam, it was Leo, a former top con man himself.
I fully expect Leo to use this guy to make Harvey jealous, though.
If he did, the likelihood of the newcomer becoming a con artist would increase, as Harvey would likely have to rescue Leo from him in order to find true love.
After the funeral, life slowly returns to normal
Although Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of December 2 promise that the funeral will take place early in the week, the soap will then slowly reintroduce other storylines.
Sander’s feud with Philippe will also continue.
This was a relief, since everyone in the bar seemed to be pretending that Philip’s announcement that he was taking over Titans didn’t completely disrupt Thanksgiving.
We return to this storyline this week as Xander tries to convince Stephanie to drop Philip as a client. This should be fun.
Unfortunately, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 2/12/24 include more body and soul nonsense
At least we won’t see stupid soap operas anymore. Thank God for small favors!
But Joey will take EJ’s advice and leave town, or at least that’s what it seems.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 2/12/24 have Joey deciding to say goodbye to Alex first and Johnny angry at EJ for interfering, so it’s a logical conclusion.
Chanel is supposed to be spending some family time with Paulina and Lani, but will she learn the truth soon? She needed to do this before Joey went anywhere.
