Co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn and Peter Safran A live-action movie centered on DC characters Bane and Deathstroke is in development.
The script of the film is currently being written Matthew Ortonwho is also involved in Marvel Studios’ upcoming film Captain America: Brave New World Movie.
As of now, there is no director and no plot details to share. It will be interesting to see what is planned for this story.
Bane is one of Batman’s most powerful villains, known for his immense physical strength and superior intelligence. Bain was born in the harsh conditions of Pena Duro Prison on the island of Santa Prisca, where violence and survival shaped his life.
His upbringing forced him to become physically strong and mentally sharp, and he eventually became the prison’s top inmate. What sets Bane apart from other villains is his use of the drug Venom, which enhances his strength to superhuman levels.
In addition to his physical prowess, Bane is a master strategist, able to analyze and exploit his opponents’ weaknesses. His most iconic moment in DC Comics was during the “Knightfall” storyline when he broke Batman’s back, symbolizing his ability to defeat not only Batman’s body, but his spirit as well.
Unlike many of Batman’s other foes, who are often motivated by madness or chaos, Bane’s actions are methodical. With an intellect that rivals even Batman’s, he often sees himself as a mirror image of the Dark Knight – a man who rose from a painful past to become powerful but chose a path of evil.
Deathstroke, also known as Slade Wilson, is a complex and badass villain. Slade is a former military officer who volunteered to participate in an experimental procedure that gave him superhuman strength, agility, and regeneration, making him one of the deadliest mercenaries and assassins in the DC Universe.
A master tactician and expert in all forms of combat, Deathstroke has clashed with superheroes such as Batman, Green Arrow, and the Teen Titans. His personal hatred of the Titans was fueled by his son’s tragic death, for which Slade believed the Titans were partially responsible. His cold, calculating approach to life and combat makes him an unpredictable and ruthless enemy.
Although Deathstroke was a brutal killer, he was often portrayed as a man with a code of honor and a sense of morality, which added depth to his character. He struggled with a broken home life, especially his relationship with his children, who were often drawn into his violent world.
This duality, as both a ruthless villain and a tragic figure shaped by personal loss and responsibility, elevates Deathstroke beyond a typical antagonist, making him one of DC’s most compelling antiheroes.
The question is, can the creative team shape these two characters into a wonderful story that the audience is willing to go to the theater to watch?
