Pre-1989 home alone horror/thriller deadly gamealso known as 3615 Santa code; It’s all about murderous madness in a Santa costume. A madman who is both a child and a killer, and just wants to play.
I had never heard of this illustrious pioneer home alone If it weren’t for Matt Donato in Bloody Disgusting. The review he made was reshared on Be Critical: The International Film Criticism Community and caught my attention. I was intrigued and tracked down the film.
It did not disappoint.
behind the camera
Writer-director Rene Manzor gives us an even more endangered Home Alone scenario here. Thomas is a Rambo enthusiast. (This action/thriller was released in 1982. Five years before Game of Thrones was released.) The French guy also seems to be a little smarter than the average bear. Manzoor has created a villain who is both terrifying and at times worthy of our sympathy. The story itself is unforgettable.
main actors
Bridget Fosse plays Julie. Thomas’s widowed mother.
Alain Lalanne plays Thomas, a man of extraordinary achievement and a child of incredible intelligence. Somewhat surprisingly, he still believes in Santa Claus, also known as Santa Claus.
Louis Ducreux is Papy. Thomas’s grandfather.
Patrick Floersheim is Santa Claus, also known as Santa Claus.
story
Thomas, a very capable young man, completely believes in Santa Claus. Even when his best friend Pilou (Stephen Legros) assures him that Santa Claus isn’t real, Thomas still believes it. It was his actions that proved that Santa Claus was indeed real and could be communicated with, which started things going south in a huge way.
A mentally retarded man who soon works as Père Noël in the department store owned by Thomas’s mother, Julie. He was fired for slapping a young girl. The man made contact with Thomas and then invaded the young family’s home while still in costume.
it works
Floersheim and Lalanne both sell this. deadly gameEven though the storyline is far-fetched, it’s still far better than most “Christmas” horror movies. Florsheim is believable as the childish killer, who transforms almost instantly from infantile glee to brutal killer.
Lalanne manages to play every emotion with an ability that belies his young age. His interactions with all the actors were spot on and felt real. The traps he sets, his reactions to every situation, and his attachment to Pappy are all absolutely believable.
This is sublime Christmas horror. Please pay attention if you can. It has subtitles, but that’s not distracting.
judgment
This is a 5 star piece from Manzor. it makes home alone It looks like an outing with Mary Poppins Returns. Christmas is over, but you’re still close to enjoying this wonderful Christmas horror event. deadly game Now playing on Shudder.
