Season 14 opens at die in heaven Saw a new DI in town. DI Mervin Wilson cut short his vacation at St. Mary’s. His boss in London told him to stay.
That die in heaven That it’s still going strong after 13 seasons speaks volumes about its popularity and ability to continually bring new content to the metaphorical table. At this point in the series, Wilson is very aggressive and sometimes downright rude.
story
There were three shootings. Two Santa Clauses have died. Another Santa Claus was injured. Patterson had no replacement for Neville Parker, so he looked to London for one. Detective Inspector Wilson was already there. His boss asks him to help locals solve crimes. DI Wilson was not happy about this at all. We soon learn that he has a secret of his own.

in this die in heaven In the opening scene, three Santa Clauses are shot to death with the same gun at the same time. DI Wilson must find out who pulled the trigger. He also has to figure out how they got to the crime scene. Scenes from very different parts of the island.
wilson’s question
Wilson is different from other detective inspectors die in heaven. His exes all had some endearing quirks. Mervyn was rude and quite rude. He is quick to dismiss those he considers to be beneath him and clearly feels above him. Wilson actually refused to shake hands with some locals. But he didn’t hesitate to shake the commissioner’s hand.
Later in the show, we learn the reasons for his irritable behavior, but he still has a long way to go before he reaches the level of those who came before him.
Ensemble
die in heaven It’s an ensemble show. Every actor brings something to the table here. From long-time personal favorites like Don Warrington and Danny John-Jules to new favorites like Shantol Jackson, these guys make it all look effortless . This ensured the show had an almost religious following and kept things growing.
While DI Parker may be outdated on the show, DI Wilson has some big shoes to fill and it will be interesting to see if he’s a good fit.
However, Gillette excels in any role he plays and will certainly blend in well with the rest of the cast.
*PS: Great to see another old favorite; Angela Griffin who I remember so well from her days in Coronation Street.
Judgment
Despite the irritating nature of the new Detective Inspector, the start of the season die in heaven Season 14 has a rating of 4.25 stars out of 5. This character is unlikable and in real life people would avoid this character, full stop.
