The episode begins with Jazz in prison, bringing tension to what is about to happen. During the merger and acquisition, Gabi felt indulged and felt that he could not bear the regret. She was anxious because she could not predict the next move of Jazz. She got a case from her old friend Bernie, which gave her some point.
When Gabby arrives at Bernie’s apartment, she finds him on the ground, the place is a mess. Bernie tells her that his sister Violet is missing, which is a shocking revelation. The police arrived and immediately pointed the gun at Bernie, which led Gaby to beg them not to shoot. It’s a tense scene, and Gaby is caught in the middle of this dangerous situation.
Trent and DCPD began to view Bernie as a murder suspect, which only increased tensions. Trent mentioned that neighbors heard them fighting and blood was everywhere. But Gabby insists that Bernie can’t do it because he is blind and pastor. Gabby also revealed that Bernie’s wife is her therapist, but Bernie is the one who really helps her. This back and forth between Gabi and Trent is one of the more intense moments of the episode.
Things took a strange turn when Gabi and her team’s photos found more problems and discovered Christian’s car. The episode then cuts Margaret, Jamie grabs the coffee, and Margaret is with Jamie for Jamie, but he says he isn’t ready yet. He also pushed her to talk about the merger and acquisition case, showing that he was eager to help in a somewhat skeptical way.

In addition to the merger and acquisition, a group of reporters bombed Gaby and had questions about the gentleman. Bernie stepped in, pushed one of them away with a crutch and told them to leave her alone. This moment is one of the more powerful scenes we see in Bernie’s protection.
As Gabi and the M&A team conduct more in-depth research, Bernie finally admits that Violet killed his wife Maria. It was a shocking confession, but it made sense given that this situation – Violet had a power of attorney and pulled the plug after Maria had a stroke. The team conducted further investigations, and Zeke revealed leaders about the deacons, which may have had some dark deals with Bernie.
Meanwhile, Mr. had a visitor in the prison – this was Trent. They exchanged some harsh words about Christian, while the Jazz remained silent. The tension between them is established, making us wonder what is going on in the Jazz’s head. Later, Mr. asked for a book, which added an interesting element to his character. Gabby began to piece together the Jazz’s accomplices might be trying to build Christians, and if the police were not right, the police could be at risk.
Back in the investigation, Margaret, Dhan and Shaker investigate Bernie’s apartment, and when security guards drag Jamie upstairs, they discover a new puzzle. It turns out that Jamie has been sneaking around and Shaker realizes that Jamie is Margaret’s son. This revelation is key and adds a layer of complexity to the situation.
Meanwhile, in the church, the deacon admits that he is not asking Bernie for money, but just emotional support. A woman from Gaby’s past, Ms. Pearl appeared and gained some new insights into Violet’s situation. The connection between Ms. Pearl and Violet Man is important because it shows that Violet may be indifferent to her behavior towards Maria.

When Gaby finally finds Violet, she offers forgiveness, telling her that she doesn’t need to feel introverted. This emotional moment helps Violet reconcile with Bernie and they can reunite. Bernie agrees to return to the church, which gives the case a sense of closure.
But not everything looks. Jamie’s actions began to cause more red flags. Gabi found a heraldry in Jamie’s coat, which turned out to be part of the Pearl Lady, not the Violet. This leads to a confrontation with Ms. Pearl, who admits to fighting Violet. As it turns out, Violet felt inward and might have run away because of this. Gabi assured her that she had nothing to forgive.
