Mubi has released a trailer for a disturbing movie called girl holding needleA Danish Gothic thriller set deep in Copenhagen in 1919 after World War I.
The girl with the needle follows closely behind Caroline (Vic Carmen Sonnet), “a young factory worker struggling to survive in post-World War I Copenhagen. When she finds herself unemployed, abandoned and pregnant, she meets Dagmar (Trine Dyrholm), her A charismatic woman who runs an underground adoption agency that helps mothers find foster homes for their unwanted children.
“Caroline has nowhere to go but to play the role of wet nurse. A strong bond forms between the two women, but when Caroline stumbles upon the shocking truth behind her job, her world comes crashing down.
The film is inspired by a true story, which makes the whole thing even more disturbing.
“The Girl with the Needle” directed by Magnus von Horn and starring Trina DeHomeand Basil Jersey, Ava Knox Martinand Joachim Felstrup.
I hear it’s a great movie and will be released in select US theaters on December 6, 2024.
