Kendrick Lamar might not be done releasing new music just yet — at least that’s what West Coast spokesman and SiriusXM radio host DJ Hed and Ab-Soul said during a recent Instagram Live.
“Look what Dot is doing,” DJ Hed began, before Ab-Soul chimed in, “Unc, come on, man.” DJ Hed went on to add, “Dot is going crazy right now,” before Soulo stopped the leak secret. The radio host ended up hinting that the Compton rapper plans to quit again and that the West Coast sound isn’t going away anytime soon. “We’re not going to give them too much,” he said. “I’m going to say this: Friends’ story isn’t over yet, that’s what’s playing right now, so take it as you will.”
It’s not impossible that Lamar could be releasing more music, as he’ll be headlining Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans this coming February. Along with Future and Metro Boomin, he rocked this year’s charts with their respective albums. Lamar joins Taylor Swift, Drake and The Beatles as the only people to have five singles top the Hot 100 in a week artist, with “Squabble Up” debuting at No. 1, while “TV Off” features Lefty Gunplay, “Luther” with SZA, album intro “Wacced Out Murals” and Dody6’s “Hey Now” followed closely.
“Squabble Up” is Kendrick’s third No. 1 hit this year, making him the first solo male to achieve the feat. his album GNX It also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking his fifth solo project at No. 1.
We think Kendrick should keep giving us another album. There is never anything wrong with doing a thermal check when you have a fire.
