Drake once again expressed his support for Tory Lanez, who remains in prison. The 6 God joined Adin Ross during a Drizzmas Giveaway livestream on Thursday night (December 26) to call for the Canadian singer’s freedom.
During the live stream, Drake expressed how excited he was for Young Thug to be returning home after a years-long legal battle, while Drizzy revealed that he had music in his stash and that Thugger was on his way.
“Shout out to Thug, I can’t wait for Thug to go down. Of course it’s Drake and Thug,” he said. “W thug, welcome home!” Thug, who was released from prison on October 31 after reaching a plea deal to end his involvement in the YSL RICO case, has yet to release new music.
Derek gave a shout-out to Tori Lanez before toasting with a drink. “Three up to a T, man. Three up to a T,” Drizzy said as he called for Lanez’s release. “I know they don’t want to hear me say that. 3 Go to T.
“Three” is a pun meaning “freedom”, or the number “3” indicates broken handcuffs. Drake expressed support for the Conservatives earlier this year when he posted an Instagram Story in February with a photo of the imprisoned singer and captioned it “3 you.”
Drake and Tory Lanez feuded in the mid-2010s, but seemed to put their feud to bed in 2017 with a simple Instagram post. That same year, Drizzy brought Lanez to his OVO Fest festival, where they performed “Controlla” together.
Tory Lanez, born “Daystar” Peterson, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for fatally shooting Megan Thee Stallion after a drunken dispute in July 2020 , is currently serving his sentence.
Lanez was convicted of three felonies, including assault with a semiautomatic firearm; carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and grossly negligent discharge of a firearm.
