One of two songs nominated for this Spanish-language musical emilia perez“El Mal” was announced as Best Original Movie Song at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 5).
The award went to French couple singer-songwriter Camille and composer Clement Ducol, as well as emilia perez Directed by Jacques Audiard.
“It’s such an American experience,” said Camille, the only one of the three honorees to speak onstage, as she made her way through the Beverly Hilton Hotel, which was packed with super-celebrities. The table burst into laughter after walking onto the stage. “Songs are butterflies,” she continued, “and we need butterflies, even to condemn the corruption in the world.”
Camille also thanked emilia perez Starring Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña (who earlier in the night won the award for Best Supporting Actress Any Movie), they will “El Mal” is brought to life. “Zoe and Kara: El Mal wouldn’t be what it is without your performances,” Camille said. “You just… shook the house and shook our souls. Peace to you.
“El Mal” beats another emilia perez The songs “Mi Camino” and “Beautiful That Way” the last showgirl (Written and composed by Andrew Wyatt, Miley Cyrus and Lykke Zachrisson); “Compression/Suppression” from challenger (Music and Lyrics: Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Luca Guadagnino); “Forbidden Road” from better person (Music and lyrics by Robbie Williams, Freddie Wexler and Sasha Skarbek); and “Kiss the Sky” wild robot (Music and lyrics by Delacey, Jordan K. Johnson, Stefan Johnson, Maren Morris, Michael Pollack and Ali Tamposi).
While Reznor and Ross lost out to “El Mal” for Best Original Song, they did take home Best Original Score – Motion Picture challenger earlier in the evening.
emilia perez The night saw eight nominations, including a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for Selena Gomez, which her co-star Saldaña won.
