in the season finale English teacherEvan is still Evan; saying and doing all the wrong things. At the beginning of the episode, a student asks Evan for some advice about coming out after class. -You’d think that, as a closeted gay man, Evan would be able to offer some solid advice, right? Wrong! Evan’s advice about coming out in 2024 is crazy! Yes, it is easier to be accepted now, but why reject such students? Plus, can you imagine how difficult it must be for him to ask for help? Evan actually teases him about not being able to come out and get this, telling him to “go ask kids your age for advice.” Excuse me? We won’t even get into the way he went off topic to describe how other students in the school might be a better help than he was.
If that wasn’t enough to make me sick, he calls his ex-boyfriend Malcolm. again? Why? Why Does he always call this person? Their situation makes me mentally ill and I feel physically sick whenever I mention him. Today is Alvin’s birthday, Malcolm takes him out and (surprise!) It was actually a surprise party and all of Evan’s friends/colleagues were there (It’s actually funny because he just said he wanted to do something non-work related). I can understand Malcolm wanting to celebrate Alvin, but why does he think it’s okay to have this party at a gay bar? -Principal Moretti feels very uncomfortable in this environment (That’s okay because gay clubs aren’t for everyone) but it made me laugh uncontrollably. I mean, seriously, Malcolm, read the room – that’s Evan’s boss.

Speaking of not being able to read the room, Markey ran into an old teammate, Chuck, at a bar. He tries to catch up and brings up his past relationship with a woman. Markie didn’t understand that Chuck was gay until Chuck told him. Loved his reaction to it though; he continued the conversation as if it wasn’t a big deal, because it wasn’t (but that doesn’t mean Evan’s previous comment was okay).
Harry was invited (Malcolm, seriously?). If the goal is to make Evan as uncomfortable as possible – mission accomplished! Now he’s trying to get Harry and Alvin together. Does this mean it’s a full-circle moment? I felt the vibe between Harry and Alvin at the beginning of the season, but then it just disappeared. -The night is coming to an end as Gwen sings karaoke (Isn’t this karaoke?) but it’s over soon, with Malcolm taking Evan’s place singing. He invited Alvin to come on stage, but he declined and instead brought Harry up. They were all singing and having a great time, and Marky pointed out to Alvin that he needed to decide between the two.

I hope Alvin makes the right decision, and if I’ve learned anything throughout this season, it’s that I should never trust Alvin to do this. He chose Malcolm. Alvin, are you kidding me? Malcolm ‘holds a special place in your heart’? do you enjoy pain That a lot of?
Overall, this show was not what I imagined it would be. While there are some funny moments, who is the target audience for this show? I fear they have completely lost the plot.
