“Long live all the magic we create.”
This line comes from a Taylor Swift fan favorite speak Now The song “Long Live” was plastered on a giant mural outside BC Place in Vancouver this weekend (December 6-8). It’s one of the first things fans see before they scan their tickets and step into the stadium, and there are no better lyrics to describe the legacy of the Eras tour.
Swift’s performance as the prima donna during the three-hour, 15-minute show certainly felt like “magic” — and it’s sure to be remembered. In the year and eight months since the record-breaking tour kicked off in Glendale, Arizona, the global pop superstar has graciously guided us through her discography, era after era, singing her biggest hits Hits, fan favorites, and even some profound songs.
All 60,000 people inside the bustling downtown Vancouver venue were locked down from the moment the countdown hit zero on Saturday (December 7), including hundreds of fans who ignored their seats behind the stage and were initially listed as $16 CAD each for Ticketmaster.
This was Swift’s 151st show of the tour, and she hit the mark with ease—it was second nature, but she never seemed bored and her gratitude never faded.
“You guys made our last Saturday the best Saturday night we’ve ever had,” Swift said before leaving the stage. Chances are, all 60,000 Swifties in the room were thinking the exact same thing.

-
Gracie Abrams’ fourth acoustic performance
Swift’s opening act, Gracie Abrams, is no stranger to the acoustic part of The Eras tour, but that doesn’t make her surprise appearance on Dec. 7 any less exciting.
“Tonight is the last chance for Gracie and I to perform together,” Swift teased, dragging an acoustic guitar at the end of the show, before Abrams showed up in a burgundy sequined dress (for what happened not long after) Say, this could be an Easter egg…we’ll get to that next).
The two then performed lush harmonies on a mashup duet of Abrams’ “I Love You I’m Sorry” with Swift. speak Now Ballad “The Last Kiss”. The former is particularly poignant – the first song they sang live together was “I Miss You and I’m Sorry.”
-
“The Tortured Poets Ministry” x “Maroon”
After finishing the acoustic guitar song and thanking Abrams for her time, Swift immediately began performing the song tortured poets department track, which quickly got mixed up with “Maroon” (which made Abrams’ aforementioned costume choice feel very on-brand).
has been a fan favorite since the latter in the mix midnight” will be released in 2022 and has already performed this part of the show several times. But on Saturday, Swift officially said goodbye to the song: “I’ll do it again on tour,” she said before ending the song, her second time singing along to a huge crowd. A tongue-twisting ending. Indeed, this is a truly worthy legacy.

live for applause
Since the start of the tour, Lady Gaga’s “Applause” has been the last song on the pre-show playlist just before the countdown appears on the big screen. Fans clearly took this as a message at BC Place on Saturday night and made it their mission to give Swift the applause she’s been seeking throughout her life.
Just two songs into the show, after performing “Cruel Summer,” Swift was already stunned by the roar of the crowd. Her goofy grin quickly turned into a toothy smile, which only made her fans scream even louder.
“We made the right decision to make Vancouver the last city on the tour,” she admits. Later in the show, after she performed “The Champagne Problem,” she paused again for applause, and the audience stood up for a standing ovation that lasted four and a half minutes.
“I just keep thinking, looking at this group of people, how happy and grateful and lucky we are to have our last weekend here,” Swift said with a wink and a goofy smile.

The magical atmosphere of “Willow”
Even though Saturday night was only the penultimate show, fans went out of their way to make Swift feel all the love for her final weekend. The most obvious example was her performance of “Willow,” in which Swift and her dancers wore capes and performed hexagons on stage with orange glowing orbs. Tonight, fans across the stadium somehow managed to blow up orange balloons and illuminate them with cell phone flashlights as if they were actually there.

Swifties make the whole place sparkle
Saturday was my fifth city on The Eras tour, and I can say that the outfits in Vancouver are on the next level. Now, creativity and thoughtfulness go beyond recreations of touring looks, digging deeper into her catalog and lore.
At least two fans were seen walking around on the floor dressed in black and carrying stuffed cats on their shoulders – a nod to Swift time Last year’s Person of the Year cover.
Since Christmas is just around the corner, some fans are also dressing up in festive attire. One fan wore a full Christmas tree outfit with all 11 of Swift’s albums pinned as decorations. Another fan also wore a full red and white suit and a hat with “Swift Claus” printed in red glitter.

This scene feels like something we’ve seen on screen before
As The Eras tour comes to an end, the age-old question is: What would Taylor do? While no major announcements were made during Saturday night’s show, fans speculated that Swift had more cinematic gear than is usually seen inside the stadium. On the floor alone, there were multiple roaming crews capturing fan reactions during Swift’s set, as well as a dolly system, aerial cameras and cranes. Only time will tell what it does – fingers crossed fans will find out sooner or later.

Honorable Mention: Abrams packed the stadium
Abrams has clearly come a long way since first opening for Swift more than a year ago. Wearing a gorgeous baby blue dress, Abrams looked more confident than ever on the stadium stage and commanded the attention of the crowd — a feat that many stadium openers have been unable to achieve. Under Swift’s guidance, while forging her own path, it seems like Abrams will only rise from here.
