Warner Music Group has made two key recorded music leadership appointments as part of an ongoing restructuring of its recorded music business.
Huang Jiawei has been named President of East West Records and Head of Global A&R for Recorded Music.
Jessica Keeley Carter Has been promoted to Chief Marketing Officer of Recorded Music.
Both report directly to WMG’s CEO, Robert Kinkel.
In his new role, Huang will lead east and west recordsWMG describes it as a “legendary name” in the company’s history and says it now serves as a “connector to the company’s global ecosystem” to identify “local talent with global potential”.
WMG said on Monday (October 7) that Huang will also help sign and develop artists “while working with the company’s stellar roster to foster collaboration and create career opportunities”.
Meanwhile, Keeley-Carter most recently served as executive vice president of global marketing for WMG. As chief marketing officer, WMG said she will “drive the continued growth of the company’s global, regional and local marketing services for recording talent.”
The appointments follow a restructuring of WMG’s recorded music business announced in August.
The company launched what it called a “flatter regional structure supported by enhanced global services to create a more direct pipeline between local expertise and global opportunities.”
The major music company confirmed in August that its global CEO of recorded music Max LusadaHe will resign at the end of September after eight years in the role and 20 years with WMG. (He will continue to serve as a consultant to WMG until January 31, 2025).
Luzada’s departure from Warner Music Group comes amid other notable changes at the top of the major, with colleagues Julie Greenwald and Kevin Lyles also leaving at the end of September.
In a global reorganization of Warner’s corporate structure, Elliot GrangeFounder of 10K Projects and serves as CEO atlantic music grouphome of Atlantic Records and 300 Elektra Entertainment, effective October 1.
Eric Wong has served as Chief Marketing Officer of WMG Recorded Music since 2020.
He came to the company after nearly a decade at Universal Music Group, where he served as chief operating officer of Island Records, responsible for the label’s operations, strategy and marketing.
Wong’s WMG appointment marks his return to the company, where he previously served as senior vice president of marketing at Atlantic Records.
Jessica Keeley-Carter joined WMG in 2019 as senior vice president of global marketing and was promoted to executive vice president in 2022, working closely with the head of marketing to execute regional marketing services in Latin America, Asia and EMEA.
Prior to joining WMG, Keeley-Carter was responsible for commercial label partnerships for EMEA at Meta, and prior to that she spent eight years at Universal Music Group.
