Few television actors have as many loyal fans as Jared Padalecki.
We have some exciting news for the many fans of Supernatural!
According to a new report from Deadline, Padalecki has re-upped his first-look development deal with CBS Studios.
He first signed a contract with the studio in 2022.
The deal led to the development of the CW series “Walker,” which was canceled last year despite being the network’s most-watched show.
The prequel series “Walker: Standalone,” which Padalecki executive produced, was also axed.
Now, Padalecki is developing a Fire Nation spin-off, which could be part of his new priority deal.
The third season of “Fire Nation” will premiere on October 18, with Padalecki playing a Southern California surf firefighter named Camden in three episodes.
He’s expected to reprise the role in the upcoming project, which currently has the working title Fire Country: Surfside.

Dancing with the Stars contestant Anna Delvey demands apology from Viewpoint host
Speaking of true crime, remember Anna Delvey?
She’s the so-called “fake heiress” who conned New York socialites and inspired the 2022 Netflix limited series Inventing Anna.
This week, it was announced that Delvey would appear on Dancing with the Stars , with The View host slamming the decision on the grounds that the Russian con man is a convicted felon.
The situation prompted Delvey to defend himself on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“You’re entitled to your opinion though. You should at least get your facts straight.
“More than three years ago, I served my sentence and repaid everyone in full. I look forward to your live broadcast corrections.
In an otherwise identical statement to the New York Post, Delvey added:
“Stay nasty ladies, but don’t forget to vote on September 17th!”
Delvey might be pissed, but the DWTS producers sure love the free publicity!
NFL to stream rare Friday game on Peacock
For NFL fans, we have good news and bad news.
Let’s start with the good: football is back! But the bad news is that fans will once again be forced to pay for a subscription-based streaming service if they want to watch every game.
Yes, for those outside of the Philadelphia and Green Bay markets, tonight’s Eagles-Packers game (which will be played in Rio de Janeiro) can only be watched on Peacock.
The streamer’s partnership with the NFL began last season during the Chiefs’ wild-card matchup with the Dolphins.
It was the most-watched live game in history, but at 23 million viewers, it was still a small number for a playoff game.
It was a controversial move at the time and is no longer popular. Peacock is offering new subscribers an introductory fee — $4.99 for the first four months when using promo code “TGIF” — but the move is unlikely to soften the blow for disgruntled fans.
Jimmy Fallon’s ‘The Tonight Show’ gets four new episodes every week
And, Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” will no longer air new episodes on Fridays, another reminder of the impact on today’s broadcast television industry.
Fallon used to film two episodes on Thursday, with one set to air on Friday.
NBC summer programming moved to Friday reruns, and now it looks like the move will be permanent.
The world of late-night programming has been hit hard by declining linear ratings, with much of the content produced by Fallon and his colleagues being viewed in episodic form on YouTube and social media.
NBC’s editing has been so rampant lately that it even cut eight or six shows from Seth Meyers’ house band.
Luckily, it doesn’t look like Fallon’s partnership with Roots will be ending anytime soon.
