There’s a reason Ferg decided to drop A$AP from his name.
The Harlem rapper spoke with veteran rap journalist Touré on his podcast, and when asked about the current status of the A$AP Mob, Ferg had an interesting answer.
“Well, I think A$AP doesn’t exist anymore,” Ferg said. “Not one comfort tape Get out; get a new one. There’s no office here, no record label, A$AP Worldwide. I think this is a thing of the past. He added: “I think people will keep the legacy that we created and those things, but when you think of A$AP – and I think of it from a musical perspective – you think of me and Rocky who made the music and all that. Of course. , it’s based on Barry and Yams and all that, but we’re the face. I feel like if we don’t make new music or put out new times, there’s no A$AP.
He later confirmed that he no longer uses A$AP Ferg.
However, he remains positive about what the gang has accomplished over the years. “We came together as a group, we loved it, and we’ve grown into these different entities,” he said. “But we came together as a group to do something positive and create opportunities for ourselves, our families and our friends. So we killed it. We did it for 12 years.
Ferg initially decided to drop A$AP from his stage name around 2021, but that should apply to any business ventures outside of any obligations he had while working with the collective.
