The holidays are often a time for celebrating family traditions, playing in the snow, and baking delicious desserts.
But not everyone loves the holidays. Some people have bad memories of Christmas, others would rather mope around at home alone.
Some TV characters love the holidays and turn them into winter wonderlands, while others hibernate into January and forget that Christmas exists.
We looked at which characters on this list are the most festive and which are the least.
This list might make you rethink some holiday traditions.
the most festive tv characters
These TV characters are the essence of the holiday spirit. They carry on family traditions and bring warmth, laughter and love to everyday life.
Some of them like to plan elaborate parties, while others like to share the joy.
Lorelai Gilmore (Gilmore Girls)
Lorelai Gilmore from Gilmore Girls is in the holiday spirit. It will be a pleasure to spend the holidays with her.
Lorelai loves snow and has an uncanny ability to smell the first flakes as they begin to fall.
Since she ran the inn with Sookie for many years, she’s also good at event planning, so Lorelai would be the perfect person to plan a holiday dinner or a winter carnival of snow sculptures and ice skating.
In fact, when heavy snow prevented the original guests from attending, Lorelai and Suki hosted a Victorian-themed holiday dinner for all of their Stars Hollow friends and family. That’s what Lorelai is good at.
With Lorelai by your side, the holidays include outdoor winter fun and watching festive movies while sipping hot chocolate. This will be the best of both worlds.

Georgia Miller (Ginny and Georgia)
Who wouldn’t want to celebrate the holidays with a Southern belle like Georgia Miller from Ginny & Georgia? First and foremost, she’s a mom trying to make her children’s holidays magical.
Georgia had never experienced a loving family life, which made her even more determined to provide a good family life for Ginny and Austin. While she works for Paul partly to maintain a perfect image, working for the mayor also has its perks.
This allows her to use her planning skills to host a winter festival and use the proceeds to benefit other families in need. After everything she’d been through, she wanted something back.
Vacationing with Georgia can be fun because she understands the balance between sexy fun and family traditions that need to be spiced up.

DJ Tanner Fuller (Fuller House)
Spending Christmas with mom is a very sweet thing. Most people go out to please their kids, but DJ Tanner from Fuller House has learned a few things from her dad, Danny Tanner, a master of excess.
Like her father, DJ won’t let her work stop wrangling her kids and the family dog and posing for holiday photos while they do absolutely nothing.
It’s often difficult to keep the magic alive as children get older, especially when they miss their parents or are nostalgic for traditions.
DJs know this and know when to ditch their elaborate vacation plans in favor of watching home movies and being thankful for the blessings they have.
She’s the kind of mom who tries to instill this sense of gratitude year-round.

least festive tv character
Some of these TV characters may despise the holidays, while others prefer to hibernate indoors, away from others, to forget that the season exists. We all know people like this.
Then, there are characters who start out mean or evil but later reform, such as Ebenezer Scrooge. We hope these choices inspire you.
Regina Mills (Once Upon a Time)
Regina Mills in Once Upon a Time is the embodiment of Ebenezer Scrooge. She is evil through and through and wants everyone to be as miserable as she is.
Over the years, the holidays can be lonely because she’s pushed everyone away. She was estranged from her mother and her father could only do so much.
Adopting Henry helped some because then she had a child to shower love and affection on, but it wasn’t until Henry was kidnapped that Regina truly reformed.
Even after she rescued Henry, Regina remained a loner as she became known as the “Evil Queen.” Socializing and being part of a large family remains challenging for her.

Will Trent (Will Trent)
Will Trent is the first of several characters who might rather be alone than attend the office holiday party.
Even though he considers his coworkers to be family, that doesn’t mean he wants to exchange gifts or toast with them.
Will prefers to stay home with Betty on Christmas Eve. He has had no holiday traditions since he was transferred from one foster home to another.
This holiday might be even worse than usual because he doesn’t even have Angie.

Jill Gleeson (CSI/CSI: Vegas)
Jill Gleeson of “CSI” is an antisocial workaholic. Although he occasionally joins the team for breakfast at a local diner, he avoids formal celebrations.
He rarely gave holiday gifts to anyone on the team except Sarah, and even then it was often a book about bugs, something he was interested in.
Gil Gleason doesn’t like the holidays, partly because his father died when he was young and his mother continues to buy him gifts.
While he understood the obsession, it wasn’t easy for him. It makes it easier to avoid important dates like holidays and birthdays.

Sheldon Cooper (“The Big Bang Theory”)
The Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon Cooper was always smart and never saw the need for something as boring as Christmas.
He would rather play Dungeons and Dragons or Magic: The Gathering with his friends. He’s like my husband at this point.
Like many other characters, Sheldon lost the man he loved as a child, his grandfather. When Santa Claus fails to return his grandfather, Sheldon no longer believes in this magical holiday.
It’s hard to believe when you see the world and facts in black and white as Sheldon does. He loves predictability and has always hated Christmas.

Frank Costanza (Seinfeld)
Frank Costanza from Seinfeld is an old song, but a good one. Holiday shopping is always chaotic and frustrating, and it overwhelms Frank to the point where he gets into an argument with another customer.
This is a common occurrence on Black Friday these days, but it angered Frank enough that he gave up his vacation.
Sometimes I don’t blame him. People are rude when they compete for the best toys.
Frank Costanza created “Festivus” where guests discussed their grievances and yelled at each other instead of counting their blessings. A modern Scrooge indeed.

Severus Snape (Harry Potter)
Severus Snape is one of the most complex characters in the Harry Potter series. He often wants everyone to be as miserable as he is and is cruel and ruthless to his students, especially Harry and his friends.
Although Snape is a villain, he often despises Harry because he reminds him of James, his rival for Lily’s affections.
Over the years, Snape would have Voldemort kill and torture anyone but Lily. It wasn’t until the final moment that he realized his path.
He is also the essence of Scrooge in that he realizes his mistake almost too late. Although Harry named one of his children after Snape, there was no natural way to live in peace.
