Finneas is back with his second album, for crying out loudarrived on Friday (October 4).
The project, preceded by title tracks “Cleats” and “Lotus Eater,” follows the Grammy-winning producer’s 2021 debut album, optimist.
“This album, I was like, I want to sit across the table from people and talk to them directly and not preach,” the 27-year-old star told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe For crying out loud!. “So, for example, a song like “Little Window,” you can compare it to the song “The Kids Are All Dying” from the first album, which is basically the same thing, but it’s a broad Posture. “Small Window” is really about my relationship with humans through social media, so I’m trying to achieve a goal where I can be more honest about what the situation is like for me, rather than worrying about it. It’s like that for everyone, or trying to be a universal wisdom person, but I’m not.
In addition to her own work, Finneas has produced all three of sister Billie Eilish’s albums, starting with her breakthrough 2019 debut, When we all fall asleep, where do we go? — featuring beloved tracks like “You Should See Me In a Crown,” “When the Party’s Over” and “Bad Guy” — as well as songs from 2021 happier than ever and this year’s Hit me hard, hit me softly.
