Eagles, old flames, difficult conflicts, heartbreak and potential new relationships. What a combination.
This week’s Fire Nation Season 3 Episode 6 recap highlights all the developments for Edgewater and our favorite (and not-so-favorite) firefighters as they work to save the Eagle Sanctuary.
From the town’s amazing investment in Kitty Hawk, to plenty of ego duels, this episode location emotions and actions. Not to mention newcomers Camden Casey and Audrey James.
Our Fire Nation Season 3 Episode 6 spoilers lay out the plot threads and locations of the episode’s Emergency Call.
It’s so cool that wildfires threaten bird sanctuaries.
This episode does a great job of setting up all the drama we see once Station 42 and Sanyan arrive at the Eagle Sanctuary, starting with the entire town gathering at a bar to watch two eagle eggs hatch.
Great curveball, having everyone on the edge of their seats for a game or other important event, only to find out they were actually waiting for the egg to crack.
As someone who still gets giddy seeing animals (even though I saw the same animals the day before), it was cute to see an entire town celebrating the Eagle family.
Well, most towns. As has been the case so often this season, Gabriella was not in the mood to celebrate.
She’s on a downward spiral and we’re waiting to see her hit rock bottom. Interestingly (not literally) she is harsh on Manny for his irresponsible behavior.
Yet she was equally reckless with her own life.
Although Manny does seem to be a little out of control lately. He’s been on a downward spiral ever since he lost his position as Three Rock Fire Chief (the role Eve now holds) in Fire Nation Season 1.
His reckless behavior led him from a model former prison inmate turned firefighter to a felon serving time in the concentration camp he once ran.
Eve makes him a “first sighter,” an honor Bode once earned under Manny’s guidance. But Cole deservedly earned the spot, especially since he’s been there longer. Does anyone think it was fair for Eve to give the role to Manny since he had a history with deserving prisoners in the concentration camps?
Her decision creates tremendous pressure within the team, which comes to a head when Manny and Cole fight.
The fire was enough without Perez’s temper adding fuel to the fire.
Fortunately, Eve built up enough respect among the crew that her intervention worked. The men quickly solved their problems.
Eve did Cole and Manny a favor by not writing to them about their outburst. Manny might be able to help Cole even more by asking him to join their prison therapy group. Cole has come a long way since we met him.
We hope he continues to do well and Manny will coach him as he did with Bode. Speaking of which, seeing what happened to Manny during Vince and Casey’s confrontation during the fire might have been a fun scene.
Casey had zero issues insulting Vince to his face. Boy, am I glad Sharon isn’t there! She already thinks he’s a sociopath who hates hawks and steals her yogurt.
Imagine if Manny witnessed Camden trying to undermine the loyalty he and the Leonites had instilled in Bode. Loyalty makes Bode a great firefighter.
Borders seems to be in a constant tug of war since Casey’s arrival.
First, he was in Fire Nation Season 3 Episode 5, where he was torn between Jack’s decision to let him play by the rules and Camden’s decision to let him do his own thing.
During Camden’s second appearance, he went head-to-head with Vince. This may have been a battle he didn’t win, because after Casey became enraged at Vince’s approach, Bode decided to stay at the fire scene and pull his cadet away.
We hope this does not prevent Bode from completing his third phase of fire training. He did disobey the drill captain’s orders.
True, he was carrying out orders from a higher-level superior. But Camden also violated instructions from his superiors by not staying behind the boundaries drawn by park rangers.
Vince told him if he wanted to be the boss, just come back to the station because Vince said no outside. Casey did leave, taking his entire crew with him—except Bode.
What do you think of Vince Casey’s failure? Is Vince doing the right thing by risking the safety of the town to protect two eaglets? Or should they do things Casey’s way, even if it means putting the Eagles in danger?
Talk about nervousness. Even though Vince tried to make amends with Camden after the call, Camden was still a Grade A and Grade D player.
Camden believes in cutting out all distractions. No friends, no family, no partner.
Not just Bode, but apparently all firefighters. He interrupts Eve’s reunion with her ex-boyfriend as abruptly as he interrupts Bode and Garbus mid-conversation.
After going through past experiences like his, we get it. It’s not easy to lose a fellow firefighter, including a brother.
But that doesn’t mean you should give up on life. Or try to go through it alone.
What kind of life is that? That’s basically Bode’s entire adulthood. Prison is a lonely place, especially when you’re alienated from everyone you know outside the walls.
Now that Bode is out of prison, he’s trying to get back to a normal life. This includes careers fighting fires with family and friends, your own place and partners.
Over the course of three seasons, we endured the ordeal of Bode and Gabriella’s tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship.
Gabriella has already rejected Bode’s relationship in almost every episode this season. But she doesn’t mind using him to satisfy her carnal desires.
But after the events of Fire Nation Season 3 Episode 6, it seems like Bode is tired of just being physical. He was ready for more, and if Gabriella wasn’t ready, the future wouldn’t be possible.
I got hate for not liking their relationship, but I stood by my decision.
Gabriella was not good to Bode. And he wasn’t nice to her either.
I will continue to pray to the TV gurus that this show finds Gabriella and Jake’s true path to love. They were so cute together in Fire Nation Season 1 until Bode ruined the relationship.
Now that Jack is starting to think about moving on after Kara’s death and Gabriella being single, they should give things a second chance. He even offered her his own spare room.
If only Gabriella hadn’t ruined everything by doing something stupid that this episode’s cliffhanger hinted at.
An angry woman drinking tequila across a bar next to a hot, rebellious firefighter brings trouble every day.
How would things play out if Gabriella and Camden hooked up? Will things get more tense between him and Bode after their altercation during Hawkfire?
We know Camden isn’t worried about making friends. But does he mind enemies? Is he the kind of guy who sleeps with his own cadet, who he tells to leave him alone, just to get back at Bode for choosing Station 42 and his family over him?
Casey has one more episode to complete his character introduction and set the stage for his potential Fire Nation: Surfside spinoff. Be sure to check out our Fire Nation Season 3 Episode 7 spoilers for more.
While this episode is about the heroic rescue of a bird, Casey’s final episode will likely bring back Sheriff Mickey Fox as Station 42 deals with a hostage crisis.
Speaking of the final episodes, we hope this won’t be the only time we see this dedicated park ranger risking his own life to save an eaglet.
It was great to discover that she and Eve had a past.
I’ve been dying to see more of Eve’s backstory, and Fire Nation Season 3 is finally here.
Not only do we learn more about her past, such as growing up on a ranch, but we also meet her brother and witness a happy reunion. Now her parents.
Fire Nation Season 3 Episode 6 gave us more Eve-centric storylines by introducing the flames of the past and hinting at the possibility of a reunion. It’s nice to see the show giving people other than Sharon and Vince a happy life.
Jack is not with Kara. Manny had a brief romance with Faye Stone, but it didn’t last long. Now it looks like Bode and Gabriella won’t be together forever.
However, there’s still a lot of potential for Border to start something new with fellow firefighter James.
I’ve been obsessed with Bode ever since James came on the show and gave her a healthy dose of competition. Their tracks are refreshing and I love the energy.
She’s the female version of 24k, and her brilliance has always captivated Bode like Davey Jones’s treasure-hunting call to pirates.
James may be in a long-distance relationship, but everyone knows she and Bode have a special magic. They spark naturally without having to do anything to ignite the flame.
Gabriella certainly noticed the chemistry as the couple sat together at the bar and shared the joy of the eagle’s birth.
Audrey and Sharon get along well, which is what you want from a potential romantic partner. Well, that is, after Audrey spoils Sharon’s mood by hinting that Sharon is about to enter menopause.
Let’s hear some feedback, fanatics.
Do you like seeing James stalking Sharon? Is she doing a good job giving orders? Does she have the right to get mad at her boss after Sharon asks her to handle an emergency?
Tell me what you thought about this episode. What do you think of Camden Casey? After Bode is released from prison, his life is on the right track, but what about his future?
Both Vince and Camden tell Bode that he has to choose what type of firefighter he will be – a tough firefighter with no other life than firefighting, or a dedicated firefighter with his crew, family, town, and friends. A strong firefighter who lives a fulfilling life. Who will he become?
Don’t forget to vote for who Bode should end up with – Gabriella or Audrey.
