The film was inspired by Freddie Freaker’s Party Line. In the story, “Workaholic yuppie Connor Sweeney (movie star) Editor, Father’s Day) has a dilemma: no one respects him in his life! Not his boss, not his co-workers, not even his wife Christina, who thinks he’s a conservative ‘decent’!

The original Freddie Freaker (sometimes called Freddy Freaker) is a character created by LA Toys in 1987. He appeared in a common spot on MTV promoting his hotline “1-900-490-FREAK” for teenagers.
Callers can choose to listen to recordings of strange sounds, jokes, and more, or make their own rap songs.
