Furiosa: The Legend of Mad Max – Chapters We Really Didn’t Need

The long-awaited follow-up to 2024’s Fury Road; Furiosa: The Legend of Mad Max Maybe we don’t really need this chapter. Sure, the movie looks great, but it’s not really necessary for Mad Max canon. To be honest, it lacks visual impact fury road.

The title itself gives us a clue about this. In addition to its name, “Furiosa” is actually a prequel. Saga? Of course, the series started way back in 1979, when it was original and different. * Mad Max also enlists Mel Gibson and Joanne Samuels to provide American dubs for audiences outside the Outback. Old-school filmmakers considered Australian accents incomprehensible outside their home country.

*Side note: Crocodile Dundee produced in 1986 faced similar issues. Star and screenwriter Paul Hogan revealed that producers asked for Australian slang to be toned down in the script. Phrases like “stone the damn crow” and “he’s a bit of a liar” are gone. The United States once again influenced “foreign” film products.

    story

Furiosa was kidnapped from her family by motorcycle gang leader Dementus. Thus began her long road to becoming the “rebellious” road warrior in the first film. Immortan Joe is still the villain here, but he’s no longer played by the late Australian actor Hugh Keith-Byrne.

Along the way we learn that Furiosa may be related to Max.

    main actors

    Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa

    Chris Hemsworth as Dementus

Tom Burke plays Praetorian Jack (perhaps the best surprise in the movie. I’ve been a fan since I Want Candy.)

Lachy Hulme is an excellent replacement as Immortan Joe, and he pays homage to Keays-Byrne with his performance.

    behind the scenes

George Miller co-wrote the script with Nick Lathouris (who played Grease in the original Mad Max film). , the prequel has been storyboarded.

    It shows.

There are a lot of complications here. The Mad Max universe has always been a bit complicated, at least after the first film, but this movie does a good job of showing off Furiosa’s backstory rather than Max’s. The character is now as popular as the Mel Gibson/Tom Hardy take on the crazy character.

    it almost works

Only real complaint Furiosa: The Legend of Mad Max It’s Taylor-Joy. Not because she couldn’t pull off the role, but because she looks nothing like Charlize Theron. While the South African actor gave his blessing to the casting, Taylor-Joy has a pair of stunningly large eyes. This can be said to be her “exhibit”. Both women look beautiful in the movie, but in reality look nothing alike. Although a montage at the end of the film shows Furiosa’s further evolution and new hairstyle.

Taylor-Joy, Hemsworth, and Burke give us the most bang for our buck. Hemsworth seems to particularly enjoy playing the role of a crazy bad boy.

    very long

Furiosa: The Legend of Mad Max The running time is an incredible 2 hours and 28 minutes. Despite its long bladder length, it’s still interesting. Despite the fact that this isn’t really necessary to the Mad Max-verse, it’s definitely worth a look.

    judgment

For George Miller alone, this book deserves 4.5 stars. It was deducted half a star because it didn’t have the visual impact that hit our senses like Fury Road did. You can stream this movie on Max.
