Film Constellation releases the first trailer for new film Charlie Chaplin Record Chaplin: Tramp’s SoulIt was directed by his granddaughter, Carmen Chaplin.
The film offers an intimate portrait of the comic book icon’s family circle. It tells the story of the Chaplin family, “who embark on a traditional journey through Rome that inspired his infamous but beloved character, The Tramp.”
I’ve been a fan of Charlie Chaplin since I was a kid, I’ve read almost every book about him and watched every movie and documentary. He was such a funny and talented guy who lived such a wild life. It was so cool to see this legendary filmmaker in a new light.
This film is the first time the Chaplin family collaborated on a documentary about Charlie. The narration is Michael J. Chaplinwhich includes interviews Geraldine Chaplin, victoria chaplin, Jane Chaplin and Christopher Chaplin.
Other filmmakers and actors interviewed for this film include Johnny Depp, Emil Kusturica, Tony Gatliff, Stocello Rosenberg, Rita Caberutand Farruquito.
The screenwriter of this movie is Carmen Chaplin, Ashim Bala, Isaac Laquistaand Amaya Ramirez Garciaedited by Julia Juanes (Looking for Steve McQueen).
The documentary will have a major premiere at the San Sebastian Film Festival next month.
