Gracie Abrams debuts saturday night live.
The 25-year-old pop star performed two songs from her second album during the Dec. 14 show hosted by Chris Rock our secret and its deluxe edition, both to be released in 2024.
Abrams opens the show with the deluxe edition’s bonus track “That’s So True,” creating a cozy, intimate scene with a candlelit backdrop, a crackling fireplace and soft Christmas lights. The song, which reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November, featured Abrams, wearing a white shirt and matching bow tie, performing the song with passion and accompanied by a backing band.
Later in the show, Abrams returned to perform “I Love You, I’m Soon,” an upbeat song that peaked at No. 19 on the Hot 100 chart in October. For the second show, she changed into a black gown while her bandmates wore black and white tuxedos.
Abrams’ SNL debut caps off a remarkable year for her, which ended on Dec. 6 as an opening act on Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour. She was also featured on the song “Us” with Swift.
Last week, Abrams announced a slew of new North American tour dates in 2025 in support of our secret Deluxe Edition. The six-day tour will take her through Canada, the United States and Mexico, starting in Boston on July 24 and ending in Mexico City on August 26. These dates are in addition to her previously announced spring 2025 European and Asian stops.
Abrams previously toured North America this fall in support of the original our secret The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 after its release in June.
saturday night live is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary season, which kicked off in September and will culminate with a special weekend and live primetime event on February 16th. Guests did double duty, while other notable hosts such as Ariana Grande, John Mulaney and Bill Burr shared the spotlight with musical guests such as Billie Eilish, Mk.gee, Chappell Roan and Jelly Roll.
