this harry potter The book series is being adapted again, but this time instead of eight movies, each of the seven novels will be a separate TV season.
The long-form television style was perfect for the books, as a major complaint from fans was that starting with the third book, too much was left out of the movie.
The lore in these books is so rich that movies can’t capture it, and the show hopes to include more.
But the TV series version faces a problem that the movie does not have, and that is the expectations of fans. director Chris ColumbusThe man who directed the first two films in the series recently weighed in on the daunting task facing the new creators.
Columbus shared his thoughts empire magazine (Taken from Nerd Informants) On the challenges the series faced, explaining how its relationship to the movies could determine its success or failure. He first focused on the advantages of the television format, saying:
“Look, I wish them the best of luck. With a TV series, you basically have the opportunity to film the entire book. So it’s exciting. They get to go into things that we could never go into— [like] We were trying to put the Peeves character into the first movie.
He went on to talk about what he sees as the biggest obstacles:
“I think they have some challenges. There’s a certain stylistic quality to those films where you have to leave [from] Or you have to hug.
“Did they completely rethink the look of Hogwarts? Did they use a John Williams theme? I don’t know how you did that. But I’m looking forward to seeing it.
There are many decisions to make. When people think of Harry Potter, they think of the movies. Casting new characters or even deciding on the look of a set can be tricky.
I hope they succeed and tell a story as memorable and iconic as the movie.
