Los Temerarios were originally scheduled to play two shows in Chicago as part of their Hasta Siempre farewell tour, but that quickly expanded to a total of five non-consecutive shows at Allstate Arena. Chicago is no exception. Shortly after the tour was announced, the number of shows doubled or tripled in large Latin markets such as Los Angeles, Dallas and Houston. this is a thing David ZamoraThe chief executive of Zamora Live, the organizer of the walking tour, is ready.
“When we were arranging the tour, we played multiple dates and assumed that, since this was a farewell tour, we would add shows,” Zamora explained. “I think it all shows how much the fans love Los Termelario and how much they miss it. These are memories that will last a lifetime.
The Mexican band led by brothers Adolfo Ángel and Gustavo Ángel played their second show at Allstate on Wednesday (November 6) in front of thousands of fans. Come together and watch Los Temerarios together one last time. Gustavo and Adolfo, who founded the band in the 1980s, announced last year that they were parting ways after more than four decades together and a total of 41 compositions advertising billboard‘s Hot Latin Songs chart and 46 songs on top Latin albums – more than any other Latin act in history.
On this particular night, the crowd was dominated by older millennials, many wearing Temerarios merchandise. They’re here to celebrate a band whose music has helped heal many a broken heart. “It takes me back to when I was a teenager and I was in my room feeling sad because my boyfriend had just broken up with me. These were the songs I would listen to,” said Yvette, who was there with a group of friends. “Their music means a lot to me. It’s nostalgia, it’s Mexico,” added her friend Lucia, who was almost overcome with emotion.
As concertgoers packed every seat in the nearly 20,000-capacity arena, the show kicked off at 8:30 p.m. with keyboardist Adolfo and vocalist Gustavo leading the five-piece A live band takes the stage. Throughout the nearly three-hour show, the audience cheered at the sight of the brothers, who gave everyone a high five before embarking on a nostalgia-filled journey.
“What a wonderful welcome,” Gustavo said. “We are so lucky to have you here tonight. This is the support you have given us over the years. We have been performing here since 1985 and we have many memories in this city.
Los Temerarios captivated their ardent fans over and over with their signature romantic love songs, including “Mi Vida Eres Tú,” “Eres Un Sueño,” “Como te memoria,” “Dímelo,” “La Mujer Que Soñé ”, “La Mujer de Los Dos” and “Ven Porque Te Busca” are just a few on the track list. From cumbia grupera to ranch music and pop ballads, Adolfo and Gustavo showcased their vast repertoire in the last hour, singing all the hits.
The brothers mostly stayed put. Adolfo occasionally flashes a shy smile to his devoted followers, while Gustavo is a charismatic frontman who knows just what to say and do to rile up the crowd. The two are completely in sync, after all they’ve been doing this for years.
“My heart is very excited,” Adolf added at one point. “I’m sorry if you suddenly think I’m emotional, but my heart is filled with gratitude. We’re going to play all the songs you want to play. Our shows usually last two hours, but today we’re playing three hours. We hope you have an unforgettable night and we will never forget you.
“Los Temerarios” deserves a farewell performance, delivering an epic performance that doesn’t require elaborate sequences, complex choreography, or even over-the-top production. Adolfo and Gustavo are simply doing what they do best: singing from the heart to songs that have soundtracked multi-generational Hispanic families for decades.
Los Temerarios’ Hasta Siempre Tour will continue with three additional shows in Chicago, November 7-9, with stops in Portland, Anaheim, California, and two BMO Stadium concerts in Los Angeles. The Mexican band has been touring since February 2023 and will end its journey in Mexico City in December.
