Hot Toys has released a new Doctor Doom 1/16 scale collectible action figure, and I can only hope that Robert Downey Jr.’s version of the iconic Marvel villain looks just as menacing! This is a very good looking figure!
The character is inspired by the comic books, not the upcoming live-action adaptation. Marvel wouldn’t reveal this so early. It also seems to be an amalgamation of different versions of Doom, with a bit of a Marvel Universe glow, thanks to the spells he casts.
I’ve provided more details for the diagrams and photos below.
Marvel Comics – 1/6 Scale Doctor Doom Collectible Figure
Doctor Doom made his debut in Fantastic Four #5 in the summer of 1962 and quickly became a formidable foe to Marvel’s superheroes. A brilliant scientist, skilled warrior, and absolute monarch of the fictional Eastern European country of Latvia, this egotistical and deranged villain uses his scientific genius in his pursuit of power and control.
Hot Toys is pleased to introduce a 1/6th scale Doctor Doom collectible figure, based on the Doctor Doom figure from Marvel Comics. He is the embodiment of dominance and will enhance your collection.
Doctor Doom’s figure is meticulously detailed, with a separate rolling eyeball on his head and two styles of iconic masks that accentuate his imposing presence. The figure also includes interchangeable hands for iconic gestures, as well as hands with mystical power effects, and a two-way display diorama base with banners and poles designed to evoke the essence of the comic.
