Ice Cube recently revealed his script ideas for an early version of the highly anticipated fourth film Friday Franchise.
The rapper and filmmaker sat down with former NFL quarterback Cam Newton on his podcast before the Thanksgiving holiday to break down the script’s premise. “I wrote a script where Craig and Day had a drug store. They organized a flash mob there and they grabbed a kid and beat his little one and they ended up in jail,” he said began to say.
“So they’re in jail hiding from Dibo, they’re in jail hiding from Damon, they’re in jail hiding from the Joker Brothers. And then they go into rehab. – I’m trying to get Chris [Tucker] Back – Smokey runs rehab, but it’s a crappy rehab where he takes everyone’s weed and smokes it in the basement.
He then talked about how his original idea was shot down because some film executives didn’t like the idea of the film being set almost entirely in a prison. “They said, ‘Jail isn’t funny, it’s too long in jail. How do you make prison fun?’ I said, ‘Man, you don’t know what you’re talking about. And then they came out Orange is the new black, let’s go to jailall these movies are about that. I thought, ‘Look, more Hollywood executives don’t know what the hell they’re talking about.
Cooper has expressed his frustrations with making a fourth installment of the series in the past, but said million dollar game The tentative title is last friday Finally took off. “Yeah, it’s back,” the West Coast legend told Gilly and Vallow. “We’re going to do what we need to do to make it exciting, make it interesting, make it relevant, bring in new characters, bring back old characters, and create the feeling that the movie gives you.”
Chris Tucker has also expressed a willingness to reprise the iconic role that made him a household name, while also placing the blame on the studio. “It’s the studio, they have to want to do it, and then the producers and all that stuff. There’s a lot that goes into that,” he told Atlanta radio station V-103 in a March interview People Big Tigger.
