Earlier this week, a 2024 video of a traffic stop between Ice-T (née Tracy Marrow) and a New Jersey police officer surfaced.
The contentious exchange reportedly ended in May in Hudson County when body camera footage showed the “Cop Killer” artist being pulled over just feet away from the DMV, allegedly He was on his way to register the car he was driving with the state.
“That’s why I’m trying to get this car installed. Yesterday, I went to the DMV and they said their system was down. I have seven cars and I’m trying to figure them all out,” an agitated Ace told police. “You don’t have to be so serious about this. I mean you can, but you don’t have to.
The officer didn’t like Ice-T’s tone and threatened to take his keys and have the vehicle towed.
“Can I park and walk to the DMV? You don’t want to tow my damn car,” Law & Order: SVU Star said. “Let me park here. If I’m not arrested, then I’ll get out of the car.
Ice-T then got out of the car and made eye contact with the officer. “Give me my papers, you bastard,” he demanded. “Give me my papers. Put this on the camera. I’m a foot away from the DMV. You’re an asshole.
A sergeant was called to defuse the situation. Ultimately, police decided to issue Ice-T four tickets for reasons including his expired license, registration, missing license plates and lack of inspections. However, the car will not be towed and he can keep the keys and update the vehicle records.
“Next time, please show some respect,” the official said. Ice-T fired back before parting ways: “I didn’t have to.”
